This is an excellent deal. For the price the dual-core processor is inevitable - and it's about as fast as a 10th-gen (Comet Lake) quad-core i5: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...3542vs3877. For typical browsing / office tasks, this is more than adequate as long as you throw in another 4GB or 8GB of RAM. The computer is easy to open up (but be careful and use a pry tool, start from the hinges).

What people miss when the compare top-line specs are some nice "quality of life" features that you don't normally find at this price:

- IPS or equivalent display (Dell calls is WVA = wide viewing angle, apparently because LG has a trademark on IPS, but anyway I've used this laptop and it's a decent panel for the price)
- Very nice build quality - aluminum top lid and keyboard deck
- Backlit keyboard
- Full-function USB-C with Power Delivery and display
- Large battery - 54 Whr is about 30-40% larger than normal on budget laptops
- Intel WiFi 6 (instead of the flaky Realtek wifi found on most cheaper laptops)
ETA: And a fingerprint reader too (built into the power button)

Compared to the HP Target deal, this is $35 dollars more and you go from quad core to dual core cpu. So you will lose multi-core processing power but the single-core speeds should be better since this is clocked higher. GPU is the same. You gain a brighter screen (300nits vs. 250nits probably), much larger battery (53WHr vs 41Whr), .1lbs less weight, slightly smaller dimensions, and aluminum case. Honestly I'd take this one for the vast majority of people. Better screen, bigger batter, and more premium build makes more sense than a ~40% multi-core processing power for most people.

Edit: Probably more like 60-70% multi-core processing power

No Backlit keyboard
No USB C that's a big factor me. Just one connector to dock or undock and USB chargers everywhere.
3 cell battery.
Not sure if bb has finger printer reader.

This dual core processor rips. High base speed, and only two cores to cool means it spends a lot of time at higher clocks

Correct, also this laptop has USB-C power delivery has wifi6 (ax201) and an NVMe drive as opposed to SATA. I am returning the HP. Also extra m.2 slot for an additional drive. Screen+battery outweigh the extra cores for me.

A Core i3 will always be faster than a Celeron from the same series/generation the last 8+ yrs. Avoid the "N" processors - almost always. Those are for Chromebooks, not Windows. Of course, the Core i3 costs more, so if you are really price sensitive or don't want the laptop to handle many games at all (an i3 isn't really for gaming either), then you might want to go with the cheaper celeron.
Google N4020 vs Core i3-1115G4 to see the performance differences. The i3 is probably at least 2x faster, but I didn't check.

A bigger screen isn't desirable by many people. I'd rather have a 13.3 inch laptop over a 15+ inch version any day of the week and all weekend long. Smaller usually means lighter which will travel better.
I have a 15.6 inch laptop now, but really miss my old 13.3 inch laptop. The 15+ inch is just too large.
Just depends on what you need/want. If you travel internationally a bunch for work, lugging around a 20 lb 15 inch laptop gets old VERY fast. Obviously, I'm joking, but after 30 hrs of travel, even a 3.5 lb laptop feels heavy. I used to carry an IBM to Japan 25 times a year. Not fun. Not fun at all.
