98% of people's experience with a breadmaker:

Step 1) Get breadmaker as a gift
Step 2) Make bread 1 time
Step 3) Put breadmaker in a cabinet and forget it's there for 5 years
Step 4) Find it in the cabinet, wonder if it still works, make bread a second time
Step 5) Put breadmaker in a cabinet again and forget it's there for 3 years
Step 6) Move and decide you don't care enough about the breadmaker to move with it
Step 7) Give away breadmaker to someone
And the new owner repeats process.

And the other 2% of people will use it constantly. But that probably won't be you.

This is the most false statement on the planet. Homemade bread for the win…

Based on description, it says China as country of origin. The price point would lead me to think this also.

Don't know much about this but looks interesting. What is the advantage of this over baking in the oven? Serious question, not being sarcastic.

There is not a program to make sourdough with the 1 lb. machines, you have to step up to their larger 2 lb. machines for that. The 2 lb. machines has a setting for 'sourdough starter', and recipe to finish using the starter. It's more of a pseudo sourdough recipe, however, since real sourdough starters require a week or so make.

However, you can make sourdough in this 1lb machine following the 1lb recipe here:
https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/...ead-recipe
starter recipe here:
https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/...ter-recipe

I am sure there are other recipes online.

I love sourdough too!
