Select the 'View Product' and then in the three dot options Select the 'Free Upgrade for PS4 version'. Once you go there , there is a drop down with that says 'Game'. If you click, the other option would also say game. But when you select that, you get an option 'Add to Library' indicating its a PS5 version compared to the PS4 one you have. Then you can download.

It was initially not clear for me too.

Regarding to ps+, if you "redeem" this kind of limited time game through it, do you get to keep it forever or only can play while your ps+ sub is active?

Only while your sub is active.

Worth mentioning though that if your sub lapses, you only lose access to the games until you start PS+ up again. Mine lapsed earlier this year, and I started back up a couple weeks ago when I finally got my hands on a PS5. Everything is still playable.

Just buy the physical disk of final fantasy remake at target it's $36.40 after taxes and it's the retro grade version can't beat that for $36.40 plus it free shipping for people that have red cart

Pro tip guys. If you install the disc game and upgrade to ps5 on disc. You cannot get the ps4 upgrade for free. It will always ask you to insert disc when you try to play ps5 version.

I bought disc first. Then got the ps+ ps4 version. Pretty much got screwed over for spending money buying something. Nothing support will do to help me. I called and escalated to a supervisor; they just said I need to live with needing to put a disc in to play ps5 version.

First, you have to have already acquired FF7 ps4 version. Like many, I got it free thru ps+ months ago. If u have the ps4 version just head to the ps store on your ps5. Search and find FF7. When I did it today, the default screen selection for the game said "Play Game" vice purchase, but it also showed as PS4. But if you notice, there are two Play Game listings. One on top of the other. If you select the bottom one, it is the PS5 version. Just click on that Play Game option and it should start downloading the PS5 version for you. At least, this is how it worked for me today.

Thanks for this. I tried in the PS App, mobile browser, and desktop browser, but couldn't figure out how to get the PS5 upgrade version. Didn't occur to me to try it directly on the PS5.
