Select the 'View Product' and then in the three dot options Select the 'Free Upgrade for PS4 version'. Once you go there , there is a drop down with that says 'Game'. If you click, the other option would also say game. But when you select that, you get an option 'Add to Library' indicating its a PS5 version compared to the PS4 one you have. Then you can download.

It was initially not clear for me too.

Remember, if you redeemed the free FF7R from PS+ a few months back, it received the PS5 upgrade free. It however does not include the DLC which is 25% off

can't you uninstall the disc version, go to your game Library and install the ps+ version? not sure if save is transferable.

30% of original game? Sorry but doesn't seem to be worth it to be nickel and dimed for parts of a remake. Wake me when the entire thing is released in a comprehensive remake that isn't skipping parts so they can make more money.

100% the reason I decided to pass on this and thinking to buy it on PSN for $3 more to avoid the hassle of inserting a disc.

It worked for Control and a few other games, but I'm pretty sure they said PS+ version of FF7 wasn't getting a free PS5 upgrade.

Edit: yep confirmed, only for those who own it, not PS+
They just released a free patch to all ps4 version owners yesterday.

they did add a lot to the story and altered quite a few things as well. Rather those additions make it a better experience or not well you be the judge

Actually kinda weird, but got it working.. had to switch from "Game" in the drop down to "Game" then added PS5 version to library and downloaded

Good news is that it just had a PC release. There are pc complaints of course of stuttering and glitches but I haven't found it unbearable (yet)

i was having this issue i fix it with the sony support chat.

- Find the email with the order number of the upgrade for the disc version.
- On the chat ask to removed the purchase from your account and give them the order number.
- On your ps5 restore licences.
- Then you can go ahead and redeem the free ps5 upgrade for the game.

I don't have FF7 Remake at all. Can I buy this physical copy and upgrade it to PS5 version for free? I don't mind keeping the disc in my console. Googling now and not finding anything solid yet.
