Looks like GameStop will have PS5 Bundles in stock again tomorrow for Pros. See link for stores participating.
If you don't mind bundles and if you don't mind having to have pro membership check it out.
People PAYING scalpers are. If no one was willing to pay it, scalpers wouldn't exist.
Blaming them because you can't buy something at MSRP is the same as saying things should never be discounted either. If they don't sell for MSRP it's not "fair" right? Even if supply and demand means they won't sell…. Instead, they sell for the price they CAN sell at, it just happens to be lower instead.
Supply and demand…
Don't like it? Don't buy it. Enough people do that and I promise they'll be available at MSRP or less in no time.
Instead, people are lining up to pay over. That's not the scalpers fault. No one is forcing them to do it. It's 100% harmless.
In fact, it's how I was able to enjoy a PS5 the last year. I paid 800. Was it worth 25$ extra a month for a year to have it? I thought so. Maybe you don't. That's ok!
Just sign up on playstationdirect. That's how I got mine. They sent me invitation twice and I completely forgot about 1st one. I got it in 2 days after purchase
You cannot walk into a Gamestop and buy a PS5 for $499.99. You have to buy a bundle, with games you cannot choose, that is almost $800.
They have had one or two releases where they sold just the console...bought an Xbox series X from Gamestop a few months ago for MSRP...seems like they have stopped doing that though...paid 804.00 in a bundle last month and was salty...was for a friend in Alaska so I was trapped. Wish they would go back to console only or at least give players a choice...its not like my games were even physical copies.
Here's some info I've shared before to help get a PS5. Might be too late to get one by Christmas, but could help some people out.
Follow the following Twitter Accounts and make sure you let the twitter notifications popup on your phone just from those accounts. You will get other tweets from these guys about shoes, xboxes, other stuff, just ignore it. You care about tweets with Red Siren icons. Those are the drops.

Once you follow those accounts and make sure you have it set to receive notifications only from them. Next is to make sure you have accounts with the major retailers Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Costco (if you have a membership). Create the account, make sure it's logged in, all your info is saved such as address, credit card info, etc. The less you have to type in during the drop, the better you're luck.
Once you receive a twitter notification about a drop, you need to drop what you're doing and immediately go to the store/app they say to purchase. That's obvious, but I'll mention it anyways.
For each of the retailers I've noticed a few tricks to increase my chances of securing a ps5 or xbox. I will put these in my favorite order. The DISC console is easier to get
1. Target. Target releases early weekday mornings 7am - 8:40am EST. My best luck with target is on a computer, but app is still possible. On the target website, you'll want to add the ps5 as a favorite or saved item. When a drop happens and the add to cart button appears, click on the add to cart with a local store pickup. Pick a store that has in stock (better if it doesnt say "2 left"Wink. Once you select store pick up, click the check out or ready to place order. You should then get to a screen with all your info that says "PLACE ORDER". The trick here is to go crazy on the mouse button, click it like a woodpecker and DO NOT stop until the URL changes to "Thank you for your order". I use credit card for target.
2. Walmart. Walmart releases usually at 3pm EST on Thursdays. I recommend downloading the walmart IPhone App. You can do a search for ps5 before 3pm. Walmart does waves every 10 minutes, 3, 3:10, 3:20, etc till they run out. They just updated their Iphone App to include a Buy Now button. When it's 2:59:50 I start clicking on the PS5, it says "out of stock", close window, click on it again, if you time it right you will see "BUY NOW" and "ADD TO CART". Click BUY NOW and you will get one. This just happened Thursday and it was the easiest thing. Almost magical. All I had to do was confirm my address by just clicking my preentered address and I hit both xbox and ps5 on Thursday.
3. Amazon. Amazon is completely random drops. The trick here is to save the PS5 to a shopping list. Once it's on a shopping list, when the drop happens you can open your shopping list and there will be a button that says "MOVE to Cart". Click that. It works way better than add to cart. Then just keep trying to click "Complete Order or Checkout". If you get the dogs that say "something went wrong", just refresh it and you should be able to complete Checkout.
4. Best Buy. Best Buy is open a webpage and do not refresh. Click the Add to Cart button, then wait (5-10 minutes) as the button changes to "verifying your account" It'll change to something like "Continue checkout" and just hit that button, go to your cart, then try to checkout. You may get stuck in an infinite loop of verifying your account when clicking place order, keep trying as they will keep releasing stock. Took me 30+ minutes last week to finish the checkout process.
5A. PS Direct. This is straight from Sony, they randomly drop usually M-W around 3-5pm EST. The trick here is to get in this online waiting room, once that waiting room starts open up 25 incognito browsers. You will have to click in each and everyone to do the "Im not a robot captcha test". Do that and still keep clicking through each of the tabs. It's annoying, but after 20 minutes they will randomly pick people to purchase a PS5. This is where having multiple incognito tabs works for you. All of them will say "Wait is over 1 hour"... but after 5-10 minutes, some of them will change to say "your wait is 5 or 15 minutes".... The lower the wait, the closer you are to get a PS5.
5B. Use Microsoft's website, live.com. They will randomly release usually in the evening and sell out within a few minutes. You'll want to make sure you have all your info saved on the account.
6. Gamestop - pretty easy to score here, but you'll need to be a Pro-Member (which i think is $15 a year) but gives you trade in benefits and first dibs of getting a ps5/xbox bundle. Bundles are pretty expensive, but easy to get. Usually they email and post that they are releasing at either 11am or 1pm EST. Just be there, click the add to cart button. Do the captcha tests and then place order. If you're not a pro-member, about an hour after the drop they may have leftovers that they open up to non-pro members. Same concept click add to cart, do captcha test, place order.
That's my advice on how to get one. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to help. All of the above is free, so don't pay scalper prices. You just need to be ready to buy immediately.

It is $875 for those wondering. Comes with an extra controller, $100 in PSN credit and $100 GameStop gift card.
So they are selling about $760 of product for $875+tax…sounds like GameStop is a scalper too then but you all still buy it so they will charge whatever they want.
For perspective assuming you want the PS5 disc edition that's $500, a ps5 controller can regularly be had for about $60 but they have been on sale for about $50 before. $100 psn credit is optional and worth $100. $100 GameStop gift card can regularly be bought for $90 or less but for this example we will say it's worth $100. Sounds like a bad deal!
Contemplating getting a ps5 to replace my ps4. But three graphics are only marginally better abs still no amazing exclusives out yet. Anybody think the ps5 is really worth the $500?
I spoke to an employee on Monday and she told me about this. She didn't know how many or how much but said it would probably be $800 to $850ish. Supposedly it's coming with a $50 gift card, which is pretty lame. She did say they were getting a "good amount," but who knows what that means.
Accurate, friend is a gs employee and they are selling bundles only (at least in my area). He said 900$ for the bundles. Lmao
Do you need to be a pro member beforehand or can you buy the membership at the same time? Don't want to buy the membership if I'm uncertain I can get a PS5.

I think your store added extras aside from the regular bundle
