Looks like GameStop will have PS5 Bundles in stock again tomorrow for Pros. See link for stores participating.
If you don't mind bundles and if you don't mind having to have pro membership check it out.
go to nowinstock.net and sign up for telegram alerts for ps5 console. That's how I was able to score one from target at 6 am.
Got mine from a Twitter dude in April. Scored an xsx by following the same guy last month. Took me exactly 2 tries each console and if I'm being honest the first try from both was before I read all the tips and started following them. So basically on my first real attempt I scored each time. I'm not that lucky of a person so I can't recommend highly enough following a legit user (not the scam and scalper pages.)
Please note: if you don't have a pro account, check out your local CRAIGSLIST gigs forum where a lot of scalpers will try to "pay" you to be in line for them.
Steal them from scalpers, what I've done before.

Here's some info I've shared before to help get a PS5. Might be too late to get one by Christmas, but could help some people out.
Follow the following Twitter Accounts and make sure you let the twitter notifications popup on your phone just from those accounts. You will get other tweets from these guys about shoes, xboxes, other stuff, just ignore it. You care about tweets with Red Siren icons. Those are the drops.
Twitter Accounts:
Jake_Randall_YT (he even has youtube videos to watch that help you secure a PS5).
YtNextGenGaming
LordOfRestocks
spieltimes
Once you follow those accounts and make sure you have it set to receive notifications only from them. Next is to make sure you have accounts with the major retailers Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Costco (if you have a membership). Create the account, make sure it's logged in, all your info is saved such as address, credit card info, etc. The less you have to type in during the drop, the better you're luck.
Once you receive a twitter notification about a drop, you need to drop what you're doing and immediately go to the store/app they say to purchase. That's obvious, but I'll mention it anyways.
For each of the retailers I've noticed a few tricks to increase my chances of securing a ps5 or xbox. I will put these in my favorite order. The DISC console is easier to get
1. Target. Target releases early weekday mornings 7am - 8:40am EST. My best luck with target is on a computer, but app is still possible. On the target website, you'll want to add the ps5 as a favorite or saved item. When a drop happens and the add to cart button appears, click on the add to cart with a local store pickup. Pick a store that has in stock (better if it doesnt say "2 left"Wink. Once you select store pick up, click the check out or ready to place order. You should then get to a screen with all your info that says "PLACE ORDER". The trick here is to go crazy on the mouse button, click it like a woodpecker and DO NOT stop until the URL changes to "Thank you for your order". I use credit card for target.
2. Walmart. Walmart releases usually at 3pm EST on Thursdays. I recommend downloading the walmart IPhone App. You can do a search for ps5 before 3pm. Walmart does waves every 10 minutes, 3, 3:10, 3:20, etc till they run out. They just updated their Iphone App to include a Buy Now button. When it's 2:59:50 I start clicking on the PS5, it says "out of stock", close window, click on it again, if you time it right you will see "BUY NOW" and "ADD TO CART". Click BUY NOW and you will get one. This just happened Thursday and it was the easiest thing. Almost magical. All I had to do was confirm my address by just clicking my preentered address and I hit both xbox and ps5 on Thursday.
3. Amazon. Amazon is completely random drops. The trick here is to save the PS5 to a shopping list. Once it's on a shopping list, when the drop happens you can open your shopping list and there will be a button that says "MOVE to Cart". Click that. It works way better than add to cart. Then just keep trying to click "Complete Order or Checkout". If you get the dogs that say "something went wrong", just refresh it and you should be able to complete Checkout.
4. Best Buy. Best Buy is open a webpage and do not refresh. Click the Add to Cart button, then wait (5-10 minutes) as the button changes to "verifying your account" It'll change to something like "Continue checkout" and just hit that button, go to your cart, then try to checkout. You may get stuck in an infinite loop of verifying your account when clicking place order, keep trying as they will keep releasing stock. Took me 30+ minutes last week to finish the checkout process.
5A. PS Direct. This is straight from Sony, they randomly drop usually M-W around 3-5pm EST. The trick here is to get in this online waiting room, once that waiting room starts open up 25 incognito browsers. You will have to click in each and everyone to do the "Im not a robot captcha test". Do that and still keep clicking through each of the tabs. It's annoying, but after 20 minutes they will randomly pick people to purchase a PS5. This is where having multiple incognito tabs works for you. All of them will say "Wait is over 1 hour"... but after 5-10 minutes, some of them will change to say "your wait is 5 or 15 minutes".... The lower the wait, the closer you are to get a PS5.
5B. Use Microsoft's website, live.com. They will randomly release usually in the evening and sell out within a few minutes. You'll want to make sure you have all your info saved on the account.
6. Gamestop - pretty easy to score here, but you'll need to be a Pro-Member (which i think is $15 a year) but gives you trade in benefits and first dibs of getting a ps5/xbox bundle. Bundles are pretty expensive, but easy to get. Usually they email and post that they are releasing at either 11am or 1pm EST. Just be there, click the add to cart button. Do the captcha tests and then place order. If you're not a pro-member, about an hour after the drop they may have leftovers that they open up to non-pro members. Same concept click add to cart, do captcha test, place order.
That's my advice on how to get one. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to help. All of the above is free, so don't pay scalper prices. You just need to be ready to buy immediately.
So basically:
Twitter accounts
Be logged into all retailer accounts
Drop everything once it happens
Learn the tricks from each of the site
TL;DR
The above explains why "scalpers" exist.
A lot of people don't have time for all of that, and it may take a few "drops" before or if you even get one.
So people are glad to pay someone to do that for them and just swap cash for that service and get a PS5 and they are happy to do it.
Please note: if you don't have a pro account, check out your local CRAIGSLIST gigs forum where a lot of scalpers will try to "pay" you to be in line for them.

You're the worst. Glad I sold all 75 of my systems
Yeah. But it's not that beautiful. You need to get "ticket" (a4 printed paper) first, that will let you stay in line. The sad part is that you will pay anyway $799+tax instead of $399+tax bc you can't buy console by itself. You need to buy also things that you would rather not. This is their way to markup the price in "legal" way just by making stupid bundle. They know people will buy ps5 no matter what so they are doing what they can to get that cash. Understandable movement if I say so myself.
Damn you took money from a scalper AND the product? I know scalping is pretty low but I think what you did might actually be illegal…
If I understood correctly he agreed to stand in line using the scalpers pro account/ticket. Then he bought the PS5 and told the scalper he was keeping the system.

Glad you can't read, but I'm always willing to help people get one for retail. Yes it might take some effort, but most people who have followed what I've posted have gotten one by themselves.
A few others read that and like you said, that's too much (probably 80% try on their own and are successful, 20% just give me a few bucks when i can get one). I'll grab them one if I can, but yes I'll ask for a few bucks (not hundreds) for my time.
I was thinking the bundle is $499... any idea how much this cost?
$799.93
Plus Tax.
Included:
PS5 Disk Console and one DualSense white controller.
Disk-based games;
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ghost of Tsushima
Twin Charging Station
$50 Gamestop Gift Card
extra DualSense controller (early part of line had choice of colors--got red)
Drove to Hernando MS which is 25 miles South of Memphis, TN, thinking would have a better chance at rural Gamestop. In line 5:30 AM. Temp was 33F. There were 5 people ahead in line. Earliest was 8PM night before and stayed in car until she saw people start to show up around 2AM. Sign posted on store said they had 59 bundles.
By 10AM opening (a couple min late due to computer slowdowns) line looked like everyone in line at opening would get one. Cop showed up a 9AM, everyone was chill, he left before opening.
Us early group of around 10-12 people already had a bond. People left to pick up food and coffee for group, then got back in line. People would rotate to their car to get warm. Relaxed and fun. A lot of fun talk.

Heck if it wasn't for the scalpers many wouldn't be able to get one for Christmas. They provide a service for those who need it.
Have you been to a car dealership lately? 5-10K markup over MSRP? What is that?
