About this Game:
  • Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis Lopez all have one thing in common – they live in the worst city in America. Liberty City worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.
  • Niko is looking to escape his past and make a new life for himself in the land of opportunity. Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost biker gang, is caught in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of the city. Luis, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (a.k.a. "Gay Tony"), is struggling with the competing loyalties of family and friends in a world in which everyone has a price.
  • Their lives cross paths with devastating consequences as they fight to survive in a city torn apart by violence and corruption.
  • The Complete Edition includes:
    • Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes – The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony.

No longer uses the gfwl service, does require a rockstar games account.

Game must be locked to 60fps to avoid physics glitches

Multiplayer was removed at some point during GTA 5's lifespan

Game is still a lot of fun and can be more immersive than gta 5 imo.

I assume the game doesn't need "Games with Live" or whatever the service was called?
One cool thing is if you had episodes from Liberty City on steam they converted it to the complete edition.

Nice! I ALMOST beat GTA4 and would like to get back to it. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and a 4k 60 fps, so if it's capped at 60, then maybe my 4070 can get 4k.

I beat GTA 3 back when it first released. I played a little of the sequels: San Andreas, Vice City, etc. but never finished them.

Just recently beat GTA 5. Should I jump into this?

Yes. Easily the strongest story of the set. Niko has more character development than a lot of the other protagonists. Some will argue Tommy Vercetti or Carl Johnson are better, but Niko has the most well-rounded personality. Even Michael De Santa with all we see of his family and personal life and the therapy sessions doesn't develop as three-dimensionally as Niko.

For $6, it's three classics that we played from back in the day.

Dumb question— how is this able to be ported to PC, but PS5 is a huge task?

The PlayStation version was made for the PS3 Cell processor. It's an entire thing that's too much to explain properly here. Look up "PS3 Cell processor porting issues" and you'll see why.

I got that— but why can't they port the PC version to the PS5?

PC's don't have cell architecture.

Again, pardon my ignorance.
