It could be used for several things when you want to pack light- hiking, camping, hunting. It could also be used as emergency food (in a disaster, etc). I'm not sure why this is labeled for hunting specifically, just marketing I guess.

I bought it for an emergency but also to use for hike-in camping. Hope that helps! Smilie
Can someone explain to me what this is? I'm a city boy with no hunting experience, but this just looks like pouches of freeze dried food stuffed into a plastic bucket. What's it got to do with hunting?
Bough it last time.the main meals have a shelf life if like 15 years.
The small snacks like the dehydrated fruits and stuff has 7 years best used dates.

Food tastes good, great for emergencies or camping.

A true 3 day camp trip kit for a full grown man.

I'm not sure about expiration but it says on the company website that it has a 15 year shelf life. I know most of this stuff was sold out during the beginning of Covid, so I'm thinking these would not be too old. Could be wrong though! nod

Thanks OP, I ordered one to use for backpacking. Might not be as good as the normal backpacking freeze-dried meals, but I generally find that I am hungry for just about anything when on a backpacking trip.

I got mine in already when this was posted before. The bucket smells faintly of cheese and has a slight amount of powder, but the mac and cheese bag doesn't seem to be leaking. Not sure.

I only tried the cookie dough bites, they were pretty good. The rest went into the hurricane stash.

Pretty decent deal it seems. People complain about the nutritional value of these things, but they're better than nothing in a pinch.

It always makes me laugh how picky people are. Like if you're in a shtf scenario, any food is better than no food.

also FYI, these buckets come with 12, 2.5 serving resealable pouches. so it's not like a bucket full of MREs, it's basically 12 2.5 serving meals and that's it..

yeah price is much cheaper than buying them one-by-one at B&M stores. Not every packet is one of the 2.5 serving mains. There's also some sides like snacks and dried fruit. But at an average of ~$2.25/pack, not bad for how long they keep in a cool dark place. If you're in a hurricane prone region, buy 1-2 of these and stash them in the back of the pantry.
