If you are debating which iPad, here is a quick comparison with the latest deals:

1. iPad Air 2022 : $399 (this deal)

2. iPad Air 2024: $549 (with Apple EDU, no verification needed). Offers the following improvements:
- Processor: M1 --> M2
- Storage: 64GB --> 128GB

3. iPad Pro 4th gen (2022): Same as iPad Air 2024, with the following additional improvements:
- Display Refresh Rate: 60hz to 120hz and display is marginally larger (3% difference)
- Cameras: Two optical cameras instead of 1 + Lidar Camera
- Face Id instead of Touch ID
The new m2 model can't possibly be that much better right
Honestly I like my old iPad but for some reason it started getting slow and I don't think this is my perception. I'm talking here about watching YouTube and browsing Safari at the same time. So no, it's not like very slow but it annoys me when I switch tabs and websites take forever to load while watching videos. I still recommend everyone the 9th but it is not good for multitasking imo. I think the whole performance is related to battery health and my battery is in really bad condition.

Apple also moved front camera. I'm considering getting one today because the new one is quite expensive and my 9th gen iPad is getting slower.

Use the app for anyone having issues. Got a grey one. I'm not convinced I need it but if I sell my mini 6 for $200 seems like a good upgrade

What is slow about your 9th gen IPAD? I just got one a few months ago, and it seems zippie to me. Now, I do very basic stuff on it, and don't really play games on it (I did play a few arcade games with free offer for a few weeks), and mostly web surf, email, watch streaming videos, youtube,zoom. 64gb seems plenty for what I do, and I delete apps that I don't plan on using. I have about 40 gig's free.

I know some people do more intensive stuff on IPADS, what are you doing that slows down your IPAD.

I am looking at getting an ipad air 5th gen or 6th gen , ... because I love my IPAD 9th gen so much ...

I am holding back because good deals happen during holiday season bf/cm/xmas time.

Nice post!
Well, I had the very first IPAD, when it came out many years ago. Heavy in today's standards.

So the 9th gen was the first ipad I bought in many years, very impressed with it.

My understanding is many people don't know how to use an IPAD device (casual users), I know I didn't when I got mine. I watched a lot of NEWBIE (new user guides and tips and pointers, and had to watch those videos a number of times , and condition myself to practice them, and I'm still learning.

Now, do you know about the 5 finger technique, where it brings all your current apps that are OPEN, and you can close out the stuff you are not currently using! I do that a few times a day or every few days. You will be amazed how many apps are going in the background. That will really speed up your IPAD. I am a IPAD newbie, and I'm TEACHABLE.

It is ok to have apps/stuff going in the background, if you want. If I'm using them currently I want them going in the background. Maybe watch Youtube tips/tricks ... because it really helped me.

I'm in this thread, like you, I was just commenting on what you were doing that was slowing down your IPAD. When I get ANY problem , I do search and find ways to "fix" it. We are both up to getting a "new" ipad, sounds like you are causal user, like me (from what you wrote).

p.s. I just did the 5 finger technique, and I had about 12 apps going in the backgound, wyze, browse tabs, camera, plex, and all types of stuff I haven't used in a few days, (eating up my ram! ...) Once I close the stuff I'm not currently using, the 9th gen FLIES! Also I remove apps and stuff I don't plan on using so I am using only 20 gb's. And if in the future decide to use them I can install them again (no problem).

iPad 9th gen is still zippy today. Perfect for 90% of the users. YouTube, Safari, Slickdeals, and email. That it. Though there are users who just "want" something better for the same exact user experience. Their $ their choice.

A lot of casual iPad users are either exaggerating their concern or simply don't know the trick to keep their iPad being fresh.
