It's up to you whether you think this is a good price or not. For me, it's worth it because I haven't been upgrading my PC for a few years now, but I would still love to play graphically demanding games. So I'm spending a couple more bucks here instead of $500+ to upgrade my entire system. Easy choice to make.

On the other hand, Sekiro is also on sale at $30 at Stadia, the exact same price on Steam. Not sure why it's not listed here, but I might buy that game for the same reason.

Ownership concerns aside, I'm now playing RDR2 in 4K & my total costs were $22 (controller+Chromecast Ultra) + $20 (RDR2 minus $10 coupon). To accomplish this using gaming PC, or console I would have to front a hell of a lot more money. I've been really pleased with the experience! Just my two cents as a casual gamer

Not sure why everyone is worrying about losing their games if stadia goes bust. Unless you are buying a lot of full priced games, the fact that stadia base is free and we get generous pro trials, buying the games is like paying for the depreciation of a game console already seems worth it. Not to mention that renting a machine with similar spec off any cloud provider would easily cost more the most games you pay for after a month or two.

If people stop thinking about ownership of console and games but more like subscription or even movie rental, playing games on stadia is incredibly cheap if you can manage the limitations of streaming in general.

Your response is complete utter trash.

Stadia is showing strong signs of poor sales and continued business...if it shuts down, you lose the games simple as that.

This OPs explanation or, lack there of...just ignore it. It's one of the dumbest things I have read in a while. Yikes
they just want to have more people on the sinking ship. Look at their holiday sales. What a joke.

Stadia matches the digital price offered by Xbox & PS. There are many websites that track game prices. If you're all digital like I am, these prices are just as good as the competitors. Assassin's Creed III has never gone lower than $15.99 on Xbox.
Id just buy them on PS or Xbox then. Stadia needs to go cheaper to gain a fan base.

Friendly reminder for the folks who picked up a Stadia during the $22 deal last month, if it's your first time signing up for Pro I believe you also get a $10 coupon off your first purchase (I definitely did). I finally snagged Disco Elysium for $7.99 after sale & coupon. Now I at least have a reason to try Stadia out...

To be fair, they are in a bit of a Catch 22 situation (you are not going to see good sales on Stadia until Stadia gets a large player base, but you're not going to get a large player base until they start seeing good sales). When Sony or Microsoft have a sale, it's typically the games' publisher who takes the revenue hit, not MS or Sony. Those OEM's can demand it from the publishers because they have market power. That's not the case in the games market for Stadia (or Oculus who also has shit sales for that matter). At this point, we don't see any evidence that Google wants to eat the loss required to grow its market presence.

Or they could have leveraged a person google play games to be available on big screen tv! That would have had a strong start.

Xbox is my main gaming platform. But I like to have a small collection of games on Stadia so that I can play when I'm visiting the parents or out of town. One of my best purchases is Family Feud. Even non gamers love playing that one.

do you actually own any of these games you buy? what if google decides to discontinue stadia as a service. what happens with all the games you bought?

and most of the prices in this list is not that good. its been cheaper physically and digitally some place else
Try playing a PlayStation 3 game without an Internet connection. When it can't call home, your disc becomes a coaster.

Just because you own a piece of plastic doesn't give you the right to use the software forever, anymore. You honestly should have figured this out 15 years ago when this started happening, but you didn't.

These prices aren't good at all. I paid the same or less than these prices for a bunch of these games over the summer.
And those games that you purchased over the summer, do you have the ability to play them on your phone, a tablet, a Chromebook, a PC, a Chromecast, an LG tv, or a Tesla? Because the ones I buy on Stadia I can.

And that's a main reason I prefer buying on the platform. Convenience. But that isn't for everyone.

You can! But... you have to jump through a few hoops which entail having a second account and copy and pasting some HTML, but I've done it and it works!

Here is the walkthrough: https://youtu.be/Z3thyZb-bbA
