3080 but only 8GB? Wonder if it's significantly different from 3070 at that point. Test scores say yes but not a ton different.

Good overall specs and performance, but runs hot, also loud fans. Also no mux switch.

After the rebate, maybe it's a solid deal, but rebate is a drawback as well.

I purchased the 3060 variant and temps are fine, mild fan noise. But buds or muffs handles that just fine. Just like turning up the radio when you wanna ignore that engine problem for another month lol.

You see that AR after the price, in the title, means After Rebate and that's the standard nomenclature for Mail In Rebate deals.

Laptop 3080 is more like a 3070ti since it's only 15-20% faster. Also the YE Alder Lake version with 3080ti leaked back a few months ago. It's all ready to go just need to get rid of current trash.

Ok, I bought this from the last sale. And can confirm it is a running awesome. No, it does not run hot like people say, at least mine doesn't. Unless you actually have it, I wouldn't put to much weight in that opinion. People hate the RGB LIGHTS , but the lighting system will change based on the profile that the AI switches to. To fix this it's simple, just change the settings in the AI profile. For the price and specs it's hard to beat. Overall, pretty solid.

I had the OLED version of this laptop, but did end up returning because of the fan noise. It would constantly kick up and down for no apparent reason, even just in Windows with nothing else running.

This does not have an OLED version in the first place. What you have it Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED series which is a different series and mainly targeted towards professionals and Content Creators with a second preference to gaming. The Design and internal thermal designs are quite different in both models.
