Would you all suggest getting this one or the T14s from a few days ago?

I managed to snag one when it was live, but people had a lot of bad things to say about the Privacy Display.
I got the same one as well. But too many questions about the display. Didn't want to do the whole return cycle. I've cancelled that order

This would run about $100 more - but definitely a much better display. I'd have loved a good privacy display. Too many questions asked by flight neighbors

The 14s while thinner has a lot of tradeoffs, depends on what you are going for Thin and light or a little thicker with more options.

The 14s needs a dongle for wired ethernet the standard 14 doesn't.

The 14s has all SOLDERED ram max 32gb, the 14 has 16gb SOLDERED, 1 slot free 48gb max.

The 14s maxes out the screen at 1920x1080, the 14 at 4k, I saw people complain about the Privacy screen as well on the 14s, plus the brightness is lower. I passed on that deal, but hopefully the screen is okay for you.

There's no WAN LTE card option on the 14s either.

For my intents and purposes, I am glad I went with the 14 Gen2.
14s also comes with the 4K display…
There is a deal posted in that thread for 4K that brings the total to 11xx for that. Was a great deal too

Is there any specific reason why ThinkPad doesn't offer UHD+ touchscreen option?

Bad brand. Both my lightly used Lenovo yoga laptops died just past the 1 year mark. They'd start to power on but the screen wouldn't turn on. I replaced the battery, power button switch, etc., to no avail. I realize this is a different model, but still a shitty brand.
We have two Lenovo Thinkpad twists that are still running strong almost 10 years later. Usually a solid brand in my experience.

I'm kicking around the idea of getting a mini PC instead of a laptop since I don't need the portability of a laptop and I've got 2 big monitors. I can get similar specs in a mini PC format for $200 cheaper vs this Lenovo laptop plus I'd be getting a 512 gb hard drive instead of 128. I think the major downside of the mini PC is I'm not sure on the quality of Bee-link. Any thoughts from the smart tech slickdealers out there on bee-link mini PC vs this Lenovo laptop?

Very simple. Its a 15-20 min process. Tonnes of youtube videos on it.

Basically just need to pop the back cover off and the SSD is directly accessible.
Once you replace the hard drive physically, do you need to do anything extra to install the operating system or the system will detect that it's new hard drive and do a fresh install?

If both of your laptop die after one year,i just gonna play devil advocate here and say "maybe it's how you handle your laptop".

I agree. Lenovo has lost a lot of customers with their faulty laptops and s poor customer service.

It won't self install. Two options. You can either clone your old drive before replacing it. There are software tools mentioned earlier in this thread.

Second would be to create a windows installation USB and do a fresh install after installing the new drive. The activation should be done automatically.

hesitate to place an order while the price was great. the thick bezel was the problem. why did lenovo still make such old-fashion laptops?
