I wasn't able to add the coupons mentioned in the post after configuring the computer with the options provided. Both coupons produce a banner alerting that the coupon is expired/invalid. That said, this computer has an e-coupon already active for it which brings the price to around $1150 before tax. That still may be worthwhile to some.
Add the merrysaving coupon first. After that add the blackfridaytdeals coupon. It should work. I ordered it just today.

How is lenovo with returns? I ordered the $819 13.3 laptop and apparently it will be delivered tomorrow. I'd rather return that and get this. It looks like returns are free and hassle free. Anyone have experience?

Not sure if I should just buy this today and return the other one when I get it.

I'm mostly concerned about the 300 nits on the other version. I'd much rather have 500 nits.

Solid deal!

I upgraded it to 48GB RAM, 512SSD, Backlit keyboard, and fingerprint scanner for $1212 total. Still solid deal, been using ThinkPads for over 8 years they still work, even the most original one that I purchased.

You can get this for as low as $924 if you do this:
24GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro
$924
or $932 with Windows 11 Home

24GB RAM
Windows 11 Home
Smart Card reader (only $8 instead of $20)
$940

The thing about the MERRYSAVING code is you have to meet a base price first, then you either get $40 off or $60 off from what I have seen. If you cannot apply that code, then try increasing the cost little by little until you get over $969 I think.

Here are some more:
24GB RAM
Win11 Home
1yr onsite warranty upgrade
1yr accidental warranty
$8 mouse (Had to spend $2 to save $20 more, cheapest thing I could find)
$-60 MERRYSAVING coupon
$946.99

24GB
win10 Pro
1yr Accidental Warranty
$-60 MERRYSAVING coupon
$943

I just verified that the 14.0" UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits Display option is still available.

Also, the display option on Lenovo's website doesn't specifically say "4K", but according to this wiki it states "In television and consumer media, 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) is the dominant 4K standard..."

Anyone torn between the t14 vs t14s? I like the idea of upgradeability of the former but no/minimal plastic in the latter, larger battery, and a wider trackpad have me leaning towards the t14s.

Same. I wonder does the T14s feel more premium? Just thought I'd put it out there, I found that you can also get the following spec ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 AMD for $1,251. In case others want the slimmer version, which for some reason also has a bigger battery than the T14?

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64 (Can anyone chime in if one can easily upgrade this to Windows 11 Pro in the settings?)
Memory: 32GB LPDDR4X 4266MHz (Soldered)
Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD
Fingerprint Reader
Backlit Keyboard
WiFi 6

@kousoku Hi, I saw from your post you were able to get a 12 month payment plan. Did you have to open a Lenovo credit card to do that? I don't see that option anywherePeace

Get the T14. The "s" is considered the lesser model. But if mobility is your biggest issue then the "s" is better. If not, the T14 is better build. Beyond upgradeability, it's also easier to fix/replace parts, where the "s" is restricted. No, the "s" doesn't feel more premium, just lighter.

Regarding your question about Windows 11, yes you'll have a prompt asking if you want to upgrade when you turn it on. I'm not one to adopt to a new OS ASAP so this is a great alternative. Still debating if I should go for the t14s or not.

Does the "s" have more aluminum dominant build? It also does have a 57Wh battery instead of a 50Wh on the T14. This is interesting because I had always thought the "s" models were marketed as more expensive.

But doesn't the t14s have an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis while the t14 is made of aluminum and plastic? That has to add to the durability, no?

To add more fuel to the debate that 1.8mm key travel is glorious on the t14. The t14s has a 1.5mm key travel, which is better than the m1 MacBooks but 1.8mm is the highly regarded Thinkpad keyboard feel.
