Can't really describe it. I owned a bunch of premium laptops and nothing really compares to the Thinkpad.

I currently own an Alienware x15 r1 but I owned other generation Alienwares too, Razer blades, Lenovo legions, asuses, you name it.

I always return to the Thinkpad. There's something about the balance that they nail perfectly.

If the laptop is just sitting on the desk, almost every other laptop is better but if you hold it on your lap on a couch or on the bed, Thinkpad has everyone beat.

performance on the Thinkpad is worse than the competition at this price but that's not what they're aiming for

I bought the X1 G4 with similar specs with the only notable difference being a 4K screen a month ago. Ended up returning it as it ran extremely hot and noisy on idle. Battery life is also terrible as soon as something activates the RTX 3070.

If you care about thermals, noise, and/or battery life don't buy it.

I would say if its only photo/video/design/music works, no gaming at all. Go for the macbook pro for sure.

I have a p50 and it boils down to budget. I picked similar spec of p50 in 2017 summer for $850 at Lenovo outlet and going strong apart from occasional bsod.
If you can splurge and need the p series performance maybe this else t series would do the most and you can upgrade in another three years.
P series is built like a tank and feels like slab when you hold it. At least the p50 was

What's the difference between the X1 and P1? This is damn nice. But if it has any or all of those same issues then it blows. Should we expect the same with this one?
