TextNow may update the required OS version number. I lost 2 Sprint locked LG Volts last yr for OLD Android. I had 2 more Sprint locked Volts purchased same yr that took their place and are still working with Android 4.4.2. Even google play restricts app access to to older version of android.
that's not waht i said; i said my 2016 phones will no longer work on TextNow
