I bought one set of these on one of the other sales. The 3ah are super hard to find, and expensive if you try and buy separately. Last night just for fun I opened a few of my M12 packs to see which cells are which. And it is true what people say that these 3ah packs cannot put out the same amps as the other small ones, so they are best for less amp hungry tools that need longer run time.
My 3ah looked to have Sony 3000mah cells with a 15a rating. While the 2ah had Samsung 22a cells. Suprisingly of all the 1.5ah had Eve 30a cells. The guys on TTC showed this to be accurate when the 1.5 did just as good or better in torque runs.
Third time this has been around this month. Let's see how long it lasts. Definitely a good deal on the smaller 3ah battery, that is not to easy to find.

Then what's the point of the 3Ah one? Like you said, lower power tools that need to run longer, like lights, nail guns and screwdrivers? I was actually able to remove lug nuts with it using my 3/8" stubby impact wrench, but they only went up to 94 ft-lb. Eventually I'll probably get the 2 & 4Ah ones. Is there a site that lists the specs for each battery?

I mean they definitely have their place, and I am glad to have one. But it does make me less likely to chase after them. I think the 2.0ah are the sweet spact for compact and cheaper.

One of the kits I have my eye on comes with a 2 & 4, which should complement my 3 & 6 nicely. But, it there a list of each one's true power?
The batteries seem to be different. The ones I see from that deal are 2ah and 4,where this is 3 and 6
If you mean the one with the 3 tools, then yes, it comes with a 2 & 4. Considering that it comes with 3 tools, one an impact wrench, this seems insufficient, but for $279 it might be pushing it to expect much more. But I guess that's what the $89 deal is for, to supplement it.

I would love one for my surge driver. 99% of my use is inside with fasteners that don't need a huge amounts of torque.

The hammer drill, impact driver & 3/8" impact wrench kit for $279 is especially nice, only $50 more than the base kit for the impact wrench.
I got this deal last month. Nice value. Btw it comes with the larger, contractor bag, not the smaller one in one of the photos above.
