Wow, I had no idea they still make tablets, thought they were in the phone and 5G chip biz. I have fond memories of one of the best built ultra portable laptops they made a long time ago.

Still no match for a Lenovo Tab P11 Plus ($207 [lenovo.com]), which dwarfs most competitors in ~$200 price range.

The chip shortage must be dictating that these new cheap tablets use junk processors from 2018. Even the recently announced Samsung Tab A8 uses the same, sad, underpowered processor. The Fire HD10 trounces this thing.

Widevine L3: This is the most basic certification supported, consisting entirely of software-based DRM. If you have a Widevine L3 device, the content will often play only at 480p. L3 also means no Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for DRM encryption.

Widevine L2: The second level is Widevine L2 and it includes either software-based video processing or separate video hardware. If you have a Widevine L2 device you will often see a better resolution output than Widevine L3 at up to 540p, but still not the best quality possible.

Widevine L1: Widevine L1 is the topmost level of DRM protection and in devices supporting L1, video decryption and processing happens completely in the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). Widevine L1 devices are able to play video at the highest possible resolution.

How do you tell which Widevine your tablet has? I have a Samsung Tab S6 Lite.

The S6 Lite has a Widevine Level of L1 which means you can watch Netflix and others with HD resolution. That sounds normal but is not the case with some competitors from Lenovo, for instance.

Is this a better option than a slighly used Samsung S5e tablet? I see the Samsung might have better screen. How about processor, etc. ?
