You have what's called an APS-C or crop sensor. The sensor is physically smaller than that of a full frame camera or 35mm film camera. To get the equivalent focal length, multiply the focal length by 1.5x times. The 30mm 1.4 would be equivalent to a 45mm on you camera. That's pretty close to to your standard lens cameras used to come with and that portraits have been taken with for nearly a century. That would be my recommendation out of this list. It would be a nice do-it-all lens as well.
No need to call kit lenses a piece of crap. They've gotten quite good over the years. Do I still wish I would have got a nifty fifty instead of a zoom kit lens with my first DSLR? Sure but there's also days I'd take a kit super zoom lens over my expensive f/2.8 glass for certain types of professional work.
So if I have a Sony A6600, any of these a 35mm? I was informed because my cam, some lenses are actually different than what is stated...forget the correct words for it.
I already have the 18-135mm Zoom Lens that came with Camera...just want to be able to take good family portraits as well. Please educate me lol.

Your camera has a cropped lens sensor, so when you see a lens, you should multiply the mm by 1.53x. For example, a 35mm will give you a ~53mm full-frame equivalent.
EDIT: See above post... Haha, was posting while that one posted

Also that crop factor applies to all lenses you put on you camera. So your 18-135 is not only a piece of crap lens but it's also actually a 26-200mm.

any comments on the 45mm prime? So cheap so I'm reluctant
I have not handled it, but I've read good things. Well built apparently. Personally, it's hard to to justify a 2.8 prime when I have a Tamron 28-75 2.8 that's so great and light. I need at least a f/1.8 to get me interested. I love the 45mm focal length though, and that would be a fun lens to walk around with.

Same - I have both tamron zooms.
