I wish the 16mm 1.4 for Sony.. Frown
You have what's called an APS-C or crop sensor. The sensor is physically smaller than that of a full frame camera or 35mm film camera. To get the equivalent focal length, multiply the focal length by 1.5x times. The 30mm 1.4 would be equivalent to a 45mm on you camera. That's pretty close to to your standard lens cameras used to come with and that portraits have been taken with for nearly a century. That would be my recommendation out of this list. It would be a nice do-it-all lens as well.
No need to call kit lenses a piece of crap. They've gotten quite good over the years. Do I still wish I would have got a nifty fifty instead of a zoom kit lens with my first DSLR? Sure but there's also days I'd take a kit super zoom lens over my expensive f/2.8 glass for certain types of professional work.

Sigma is my favorite glass. I've got a 50mm f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, and a 150-600 f5. All are awesome.

So if I have a Sony A6600, any of these a 35mm? I was informed because my cam, some lenses are actually different than what is stated...forget the correct words for it.

I already have the 18-135mm Zoom Lens that came with Camera...just want to be able to take good family portraits as well. Please educate me lol.

Your camera has a cropped lens sensor, so when you see a lens, you should multiply the mm by 1.53x. For example, a 35mm will give you a ~53mm full-frame equivalent.

EDIT: See above post... Haha, was posting while that one posted Big Grin

Warning: the 150-600mm lens isn't fully sealed against dust and splashes unlike the more expensive "sports" version of the same lens.

Also that crop factor applies to all lenses you put on you camera. So your 18-135 is not only a piece of crap lens but it's also actually a 26-200mm.

There's not a 30mm f1.4 Sony on this list…

Ah bummer, you're right. I was hasty with my reading. This is the lens I was talking about:
