I bought this on Black Friday for 299.99 at my local Dick's. It's really nice, and the optional spotter arms for $99 are really well made. For those of you wanting something foldable, this is a great option at a great price!

I had 495 on it with no issues.
I was in store checking these out and it's very sturdy feeling, looks very well built. However, there are some big caveats, as this uses a non-standard peg system, so your run of the mill J-hooks or accessories won't work with this system, and the J-hooks designed to work with the pegs can be bumped out of place relatively easily from underneath. The spotter arms aren't included either, which for such a stout rack, seems like a weird omission.

Otherwise it's a good deal if the peg system doesn't bother you, and you don't mind adding more for the arms.
Ethos is a quality brand. Had their squat rack and didn't have much to complain about.

Maybe use more than 5 words since you replying to me then me replying to you and then you replying to me etc etc is somehow the wrong comment. I explained why your suggestion wouldn't work and now you're responding like this.

Or just stop. Either way.

But is the unit going to pull out far enough from the wall to get a bench under there and use the included short squat arms for bench pressing? I'm thinking you would need the spotter arms to get the barbell far enough from the wall to get a bench under there and have the barbell at a comfortable area over mid-chest. I wouldn't want to have to try and lift and lower the barbell at my forehead level, and swing it over to my chest. That might be kind of dangerous.

I'm only 5'9 and my bench fits in there fine. I haven't encountered any issues yet except I wish I could slap a dip bar on it. For the money and the space I saved, I'm good with it. It's a little clumsy, but overall, I like the setup. I like the versatility of the rogue and PRX better, but I definitely like the huge cost savings of the Ethos.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive bench to use with this that is rated for a decent amount of weight? Doesn't need to be folding.

Unfortunately they only possibly have it in stock at a Dick's 1.5 hours away from me.

Is this still a good rack at $400? The comparable rogue recommendations don't come with stringers which are an extra $100 for a pair putting the Rogue rack at $700.

Have the same rack paid full price during Covid.

Solid rack. Screaming deal at 250 imo.

Maybe silly question but I assume the floor carries all the weight when this is in use right? The wall mounted portions are just for stability/storage when it folds away?

I considered the rack but passed because of the proprietary peg system. This weird design choice is undoubtedly why its marked down.

Versatility is a huge part of a power rack and having it pegged really kills that.

I don't doubt the build quality is great, but if I can only do a couple exercises, why bother with a rack to begin with?

For instance, it doesn't even look like one could buy a second set of jcups anywhere for it.

You won't be buying dip handle attachments, or plate holders, or anything beyond spotter bars either.

Bummer that they designed it so strangely.

Besides pull ups and squats, what else do you use it for?

If someone can explain a reasonable way around the peg system, maybe I'll still consider it.

I use two Olympic barbells on the spotter arms for dips. I got the Spud Inc high/low pulley system to do all things pulley related. The pull up bar is the perfect height for all that. I mounted a D Ring to the wall and the rack is the perfect depth for all the low row stuff. I also built a belt squat platform and grip strength station that I use on this rack. I also bought adjustable ring straps to suspend my barbell from the pullup bar to do jammer exercises and hammer rows. I love this setup, and it meets my needs perfectly. The belt squat platform and grip strengthener are on IG on the Kaizen DIY page if you're interested.

Thanks, maybe I'll look into pulleys at some point.

I opted for a space saving Titan T3 rack. It doesn't fold, but its not critical for me. With 10% 1st order discount It cost $12 more than the Ethos, but uses holes along its entire length. I didn't want to be limited down the road.
