Okay so there is a lot to dismantle in what you said.
#1. I've never met a single gamer who preferred a 32" monitor to a 27" monitor for gaming.
#2. S3220DGF has one of the worst response times ever compared to any modern or similar model made to date.
#3. S3220DGF doesn't break 300 nits of brightness in any test.
#4. S2721DGF beats the S3220DGF in gray uniformity, color calibration potential, color gamut, HDR color volume, reflection, text clarity, and almost every other consivable area of quantifying a gaming monitor.
#5. It's not close, the response time on the S32 is absolutely abysmal. 14.8 ms total response time, this is getting towards bad television response time. To compare the S27 is 6.3 which is less than half the time required for the S32. This is bad like so bad. It's so bad that it's point two and point five.
#6. Total dark response time is _22 ms_ while it's 6 ms on the model OP listed... that's probably one of the worst test results ever measured on a 165Hz display...
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...l/s2721dgf
-Excellent gray uniformity
-Superb SDR color gamut
-Amazing viewing angel
-Excellent ergonomics
-Great reflection handling

-Poor black uniformity (common issue on IPS)
-Low contrast (common issue on IPS)
-Disappoint accuracy out of the box (common issue, ICC profile calibration needed from here-> https://www.rtings.com/assets/pag...rofile.icm)

Outstanding response time (6.3 ms total) but it does have 4% overshoot error. Fantastic low input lag at 3.7 ms at native resolution.

Price wise this ws $234 two months ago via a 10% news letter code mixed with $62.83 honey cash back. It's been hovering around $310 for a few weeks now and used to come with a $50 dell gift card and was urlhasbeenblocked cashback potential too.

This is a great monitor if not one of the best available in it's specs but it also has hovered at this price for a few months now and offered more rewards for less multiple times.
They are not the same thing. The Dell's 32" has a VA panel. This thread's is IPS

If you had $300-$400 to spend on a 27" gaming monitor what would be your choice?

Is there really that big a difference in Dell IPS vs VA?
Ips all day for gaming. I'd take Ips's lesser black uniformity and contrast over VA panels ghosting and viewing angle deficiency. Please do some DD on more accurate summary of differences, but for me those are the highlights/lowlights that mattered.

Arrived with the seal broken and upon inspecting it clearly has dog hair and finger prints on the monitor.

The description matches the monitor I returned last week…

Gamer here, I prefer (and have) a 32" over a 27". My next monitor will be a 42" @4K and 165Hz with HDR, once they invent them. In the end, bigger monitors are always better. And if you're telling me that we've already hit the sweet spot at like 24 or 27", then let me tell you that you sound like Apple in the early 2010s, telling everybody that they didn't need a bigger screen. We've gone from 13" CRT to 14", 17", 21". Then we moved to flat panels and then widescreens, 22", 23", 24", 27" and now we're at 32". It's not going to stop. For casual gamers (which is like 99% of us), bigger screen is almost always better.
Depends on "your" peripheral vision and distance from the screen…there is a law of diminishing returns at some point if the monitor is so large that you have to move your head to see the corners. The math works that at a normal viewing distance when sitting at a desk that somewhere between 27" and 32" you will hit that wall of diminishing returns and have to move your head, which directly has a negative impact on gaming…it's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of math, which is unique for each person (peripheral ability + seating distance from screen).

Picked this monitor few months ago. I mostly play Age of Empires and Valorant, and also switch it with my work laptop while working. The display size of 27 inch and 1440p 165Hz feels great. I honestly think 4k is overkill for 27 inch. I ended up paying around 290 incl tax with discover 10% cashback and coupons long time ago. This still seems to be a great deal.

I picked one of these up the other day. Was able to use the PayPal discount with store pickup. I have had allot of 1440p monitor Odyssey G5 with my favorite before this. Also had a few 2716dgf but they all had dead pixels in the past. With the icc profile and simple calibration I really like this monitor. Looks great in diablo 3 and warzone. Really happy for 297$ out the door. The only negative is the Odyssey has better blacks but it is a VA panel.
Any guidance on using IPP and calibrating this? I have a S2719DGF and using this as S2721DGF as a second monitor, the color is different I am hoping I can get them close.

Either start the return process through eBay instead of bothering with messages, or return it at a physical Best Buy store.

You can return Best Buy eBay purchases in person, but you'll probably need the packing slip.

EDIT: SlickDeals didn't like my link to their return policy, so I removed it.

I am sorry but S2719DGF is a TN panel, Trying to match that color wise with a IPS is almost impossible. Frown

https://www.rtings.com/assets/pag...rofile.icm [rtings.com] <- ICC Profile

Load profile "gamer 1" or "sRGB" then here's the ICC profile calibration from rtings on your monitor. Brightness should be around 10-20. Response time should be set to "Fast" not "Faster" as the faster option causes ghosting with not enough added benefit for the drawbacks.

https://www.howtogeek.com/318723/...e-monitor/ [howtogeek.com] <- Guide on loading ICC if you're new.
how do i download the icc profile? when I click it a tab comes up then dissappears

Great price! But isn't the Gigabyte M27Q just a better monitor for $30 more dollars?

Motion is a little better on the Dell along with 2 more USB ports. Dell also has DP 1.4 vs 1.2. GB is a nudge up in a few other categories. I'm looking to use these for side monitors with an AW34 (Ill be upgrading to the AW OLED 34 when its out). I'm trying to whittle this down myself, but my AW monitor and laptops have been great. I do not have experience with GB.
