Did you have thunderstorms recently?

I had one last month and my C4000 or A20 from Costco crapped out. Random disconnect etc. It messed up the RJ45 jacks from what I can tell as the modem was perfectly fine

Thankfully costco took the return
Well, first, it's connected to a UPS surge protector. Haven't had any thunderstorms in the 20 days I've used it. Second, this printer issue only happens say 1 out of 5 times. I would think if the jack was the issue, I'd be having more problems than that.

I'm not the most tech knowledgeable but need to upgrade based on my comcast set up and internet speed we pay for. They need to send us a new dvr box but won't until we replace our several year old combo unit. So based on their recommendations i found a great deal on CM2000 modem. Would this be a good router to pair with it? I almost bought a mesh system but i think that would be overkill for a 2200 sq ft home.

Thanks for any input

Bought it for $250 last month. They'll price-adjust, right?

UPDATE: Been over 30 days so I guess the answer will be no.

Currently running Netgear R8500 AC5400 router with 54 devices hooked up. At least that is what is says. Brought for $139 I'm in a 2,000 sq ft single story home. Router pretty much middle of the home. Everything seems ok but after 3 close to 4 years I'm noticing I'm having to do a few resets once in a while. I'm only running cox internet at 500 up and 10 down. Most of my stuff is cameras and smart home things. Not sure I really need Mesh not sure I really need something like this either. Do need something that can support a lot of devices though.

You do know that they all use the same chipsets right? Hardware aside, what's different is the software side of things. That said, I've owned at least 1 TPLink wireless router in my lifetime (10yrs ago or so) and it was just fine. I even ran ddwrt on it.
You said the only difference is software but then you ran a custom, non-TP Link software on your router. Of course ddwrt is good.

Dual-band routers can often handle 30-40 devices, while tri-band routers are rated generally for between 50 and 70. A single-band router with just the 2.4GHz band can satisfactorily handle up to 10-16 devices only. So this router being a high end tri-band can easily handle your smart home load.

I also have more than 50 devices and when I had guests over, old AC5400 would struggle but no such complaints since I upgraded to this one.

I have 1GB service, my computer is over Wifi with a Wifi 6 card and sits about 30 feet away from router with a few walls in between. Will this router get me close to 1000mb/s over wifi?

My current ISP wifi gets me 200-500 mbps burst but consistent download speed is right around 100mbps over WIFI.

Of the 3 topbransds, Asus, Netgear, Linksys...TP is the POS of the bunch...unreliable, cheap ass, low performance, 50/50 chance of it working as advertised! You've been warned. ╭∩╮ᵔᴥᵔ╭∩╮

greenwichUsing Archer C9 for 5 years now. And it still works great even for gaming. So, stop spreading misinformation.
I have to agree with Nuocmamstyle on this one. I've had all 3 of those brands die on me with under 2 years of use. I've gone Ubiquiti since, and I'm not even looking back. Also, with Ubiquiti my Wi-fi network doesn't get destroyed by interference that was absolutely wrecking the network with TP-Link, even though on paper the TP-Link was supposed to be better.

Looking for that funny guy who always posts asking, "How do you fly this thing (drone)" for these Wi-Fi router posts.

Dude is so hilarious.
