https://platinumsupplypro.com/ I've bought these blades from here a couple times they work great. I do cabinetry. I have also used them to cut brass and they worked on that too
I have these as well for my previous oscillating tool. Starlock compatible tools can only take Starlock accessories, however, so these won't work for this tool.

Price slowly dropped over Christmas day to this point. Have it in my cart and was hoping it would drop further (although no movement for 48+ hours) but now that someone posted it I'll probably buy as I imagine the price will go back up.

Gross that Amazon can get away with listing such an absurd MSRP to make it look like a bigger discount than what it is. Item hasn't been out for long (released maybe 1-2 months ago) but it's release MSRP was definitely $249.99 and it's been at $200 at both HD and Amazon since release.

Good price but if you don't need it now I imagine we'll start to see it more competitively priced in the $150-$175 range
MSRP isn't whatever Amazon claims it to be. It's what Makita says. And yes, some places try selling it for that much. Fastenal wants $411.25 for the same tool. Amazon isn't "getting away with" anything.

Indeed.

Still - Amazon is complicit.

Starlock blades are a deal breaker. Unless someone proves to me that you can use regular blades I will pass.

I have been rocking the Milwaukee M18 Multi-tool doing my kitchen tile grout. Pick this one up if you can with battery at $99, ship to home still available. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../309844463

Or tool only $129 for another online grab if thats gone.

Great powerful tool, with Star Lock which is great for being a universal fit for blades.

I did a lot of research on these for my applications and picking this one over the Dewalt XR, which also has great reviews.

If you are a Dewalt fan (these two units are pretty similar, Atomic being newer, and XR being a rivaled unit):

Atomic with battery at $99

XR Tool only at $114

This multitool is fantastic, lowest price since release. Probably won't go down more than 10-20 bucks… I'd highly recommend pulling the trigger if u r in the market for one. If u r into diy, renovation, u r gonna get so much use out it. Plus it's incredibly powerful and quiet- compared to old model.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I own the older makita version, as well as dewalt xr… this is much better, less vibration and more power.

may as well get the one with the blades ($204) considering one will likely spend around 30 for a quality 3 pack anyhow lol

btw that is the main difference maker in terms of cons the blades are usually much more expensive harder to find and not many generic brands because they are harder to make as well as patented design i assume just be mindful 3 pack quality starlock vanilla blades will generally run around $30.

it certainly does cut down on vibration not as heavy as some other models and less noise but i find myself using my other mutlitool more because i always have more of those blades kicking around i can get a 15 pack of decent gegenrics for almost half the cost than a branded 3 pack starlocks

Haven't had time to research the differences, but check out the Japanese market version. Like the impact drivers… it might be manufactured in Japan versus China… and have different quality parts inside. And it's available in the more traditional color. Search TM52DZ on eBay.

Getting as a gift for my father who will be doing a bunch of home reno the next few months.

Can anyone recommend which blades/attachments to get for this? In general, what are the most common?
  1. General blade (for wood, metal)
  2. Sanding pad + sand paper
  3. Round saw blade???
  4. Scraper???
Is there a combo kit that includes all the most common accessories that someone can recommend?

Lol frontpage my ass! The m12 fuel obliterates this tool. And the starlock system is very pricey when replacing.

Nice robo likes!
