1) It has been on Gamepass since release and still is today.
2) It is a sports game and is at the end of its cycle. The game has started its "Forever" programs which allow people joining late to catch up on stuff. There is virtually no new content left.
It is not as cheap on PlayStation because it has not been available for virtually free like on XBOX. Yes, not everyone has Gamepass, but many do and it definitely impacts a games value…especially at the end of the cycle of the game. For a sports game, it is a good game. I have played way more than I should and I can critique some aspects….but it has provided a lot of fun for me as a baseball fan.

I understand all of that, but that doesn't explain why $4 when other "Game Pass, sports games" aren't as cheap. That's all I'm saying, you don't see $4 elsewhere.
could be indicative of baseball's lack of staying power in the off-season, though.

i think it has a lot to do with this disc only working on the Xbox Series X console, this is not the the xbox one disc and microsoft has not produced as many series X's as they have series S. so i think this is the case of them printing too many 21 the show discs and wanting to clear them out before press cycle for 22 begins.

There it is, that's the reason. There's still far more XB1 users than X/S. Shame Sony Interactive didn't use Smart Delivery to enable cross gen for this game, would have been a much bigger success sales-wise.
