Home Depot would typically give a military discount in store with proof of service. HD has now updated their discount to be more in line with Lowe's system. Now after you verify your service online you can order online to receive the discount on eligible purchases or use the app while shopping at the store. Follow the link and select military discount and follow the instructions. It only took about 10 mins to verify.

Thanks, was not aware. I prefer buying from HD instead of Lowes, but Lowes allowed for using a military discount far easier than HD. HD actually lost thousands in revenue from me alone due to this.

I agree, it's total crap. I don't always carry my cell phone everywhere, and some vets don't have a mobile data plan outside the home. Lowe's makes it easy - apply for military/veteran discount one time, then just give your phone number for the discount at checkout each time.

i order online from my desktop. discount is applied. the discount works the same as lowes, BUT, i dont know if it works with special buy or closeout pricing. lowes works with anything

Lowes doesn't stack the discount on most sale items. Home Depot has appeared to stack with most sale items I've tested.

Thanks for the info, was unaware of the virtual id. I had always just showed my ID card at the register. Lowes sent me a card with bar code that they scanned.

But just got verified and got this message back "SUCCESS! YOU'VE BEEN VERIFIED. You now have a Virtual ID to use when in-store. This is a QR code and can be accessed via your phone and by downloading our app. For online purchases, your discount will be automatically applied when signed in."

The last sentence here shows discount applied when you sign in on line. Great TX

Just verified, put an item in cart @ HD, Military discount shows. :o)
