It's definitely not a remake. You can play the demo to try it out.

Yep, they did a remake.
Remake. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

This is amazing, especially on handheld switch (which this genre is totally made for). No brainer buy for the Switch. Great game regardless if you want on PS4/5 too.
How's the text size in handheld?

FYI it's a remake of the first game with updated graphic , not worth it
Different Story, Different characters, Some units are the same, some are different. Completely not the same game.

No, you control provinces on a world map and then go into "tactics" fights using your Rune Knights and your monsters to defend or attack provinces until you conquer the continent. I guess the fighting can be considered like SF or FE but the game in total isn't the same.

I think this one is a little more story intensive compared to the JP and NA versions of the original, but fighting is still a key aspect.

A really important part of the game is how your knights' rune power operates. It determines how many monsters they can control, how strong the monsters are, and where they can move on the battlefield.

I bought this game on the Switch when this deal was posted and tried it for a few minutes. For anyone not familiar with the game, like me, it will be a very heavy investment of your time to learn it.

Definitely will need to do the tutorial. I skipped it hoping the game would introduce itself slowly but it throws you right into the chaos. Attack/defend phases, castles, various groups of armies and decisions to be made, arrows point everywhere, grids to move your team, manas to spend, tons of monster cards and stats, etc. I had no idea what the hell was going on so had to quit. It's not a simple game where you pick up and play. And it doesnt ease you into it. not sure it's for people who would feel guilty playing games too long.

not the right game for me. felt like i was looking at a chess board combined with dynasty warriors and yugioh.

Yes it can be a lot for anyone who's not familiar with the series. But its a great game, with a lot of characters, classes and monsters to play around with. Dont give up just yet. Hopefully this Youtube video help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X...eadlyDeity

I'd have to disagree and say it's very quick to learn, but you do want to run the tutorials to get introduced to the systems.

At it's core, it's really just a conquest type board game with wars being played out like FF:Tactics. Once you mix the systems in it gets more in depth with fun. Leveling up your knights and monsters, giving them equipment and loot, sending your people on quests to recruit randomized knights/monsters/loot. Changing classes of your knights or evolving your monsters into different ones. All so cool, and each system has its ins and outs.

First play I recommend doing the tutorials (only like 6 of them and 10min each probably). Then start it up and spend the first bit looking at your starting bases, looking over the monsters you have and what they can turn into, same with knights. You will feel a lot more knowledgeable then and can get into it and learn more from there.

Definitely fun and totally worth $30!
