Depends on the nits as well as the type of screen.
A 300nits (minimum) matte panel would be usable outside. But for a glossy or glary panel, you'd probably need a 400nits screen at least.
Not sure what kinds of screens tend to predominate in Windows laptops. Is this one glossy or matte? Aren't Apple laptops known for being glossy?

Intel i5/i7 processor in 2019+, compared to getting a AMD Ryzen, is equivalent to getting a Celeron back in the Pentium 3/4 years. Intel lost the lead years ago, and AMD is getting better by the day

I chatted with CS and they said this one is matte.

Really tempted to bite on this. Not the biggest fan of the keyboard layout, but I guess that's what you get on a 13.3".

Does anyone have any experience with Lenovo returns? Haven't looked into it much just yet but curious how long one has and how painful that may or may not be.

As a rule of thumb, touchscreens are, most often than not, glossy. Non-touchscreens are usually matte.
So according to that, this should have a matte screen as another member has also confirmed above.

Wow I thought after christmas would get even better and this is great.

I mentally set my new laptop requirement...

Screen above 1920x1200
16GB DDR4x
512GB NVMe SSD
Non-touch screen

...for under $600. Getting real close Smilie. MUST..... HOLD..... OUT.

I am in the same boat but this is as good as it gets for a screen of this type. Ever since I went to it, I can't go back to 1080p. Still thinking of getting it but I checked previous threads on this laptop and there are concerns about the trackpad not functioning

Thanks. I don't need a touchscreen laptop or glossy so this is perfect for me. However I'm a bit overbudget for the year so I might wait till spring for a new laptop. As a rule of thumb laptop prices tend to not go up on average while features generally get better, so there's little cost to waiting if you can.

Is this laptop better than this Dell posted a few weeks back? Is open box but I was able to buy one for $654 this week, it looks like new but missing pen.

If OP deal is better I can return the Dell.

Anyone know how this compares to the Ideapad Slim 7i pro ? I know in terms of display it definetely seems weaker at this units 300nits/non touch vs 415/90hz refresh/touch enabled but curious are there some aspects where the thinkbook is stronger ?
Kinda off topic but I purchased my slim 7i pro during the Walmart deal for $699 the i5 version. I love the 90 hz refresh and the build quality is amazing.

IIRC, there is a restocking fee unless there is an issue with the product.

I had to return a ThinkBook a couple of months back due to loud fan noise and it didn't take too long to get the credit. They sent a return label and I used the same box it came in, to ship out. Surprisingly, Lenovo Rewards still applied even after return and that worked in my favor.

It better has some of the best build quality. Walmart has i5-1135G7 machines for ~$399. Can't imagine it's original price is serious.

lol all the thumbs down, you guys just in denial because you bought this or you really like products that are over priced by 400%
