To avoid that, keep the ham in its sealed plastic wrapper and submerge in a pot or sink full of hot water, and change the water out 2-3 times after 30 minutes. When done, ham is warmed to the center, juicy and rarely salty. Works with ham steaks that are fully plastic wrapped too.
Smithfield used to be a good brand. Bought out by a Chinese company years ago and in my opinion is more about profit than quality these days.
Google "warm ham hot water americas test kitchen" for more about preparing a ham without overbaking it. It just goes into the oven for a glaze.

Does not look like these are country hams, but soaking them anyway, at least for a few hours right before cooking might get the salt level down to an acceptable level.

About 3 months after the sale, they were about inedible. I tried them a few times over the next 6 months. Nope.
To be fair, the old smithfield hams and bacon rashers that you had to soak in water for three days weren't terribly kitchen friendly. But a lot of their convenience products like the pork chops were pretty good.
