Word of warning, inspect the box and planer as soon as you get it. These things are heavy and packaging is just barely sufficient, imo. I had one of these shipped and the base plate was cracked which causes alignment and level issues. Ended up needing to return and reship.

Had the same thing happen with this planer on a coupon deal a couple years back. Arrived with a corner completely mangled. It was out of stock when I returned it, and I was unable to get a replacement at the same price Frown

If I hadn't gotten the $185 ridgid from home depot, I'd be all over this, but I really don't have need of a planer enough to justify the bump in quality / price. Apparently the ridgid breaks a lot, but I can afford to let them have it for weeks if they can afford to fix it for the rest of my (or their) life...
