You can also just buy your size. 30x32 fits me fine at 6-1, 184. It's $15 Levi's. Throw-away price for a decent pair of pants.

Pretty much depending on where you work and how much of a miserable jerk your boss\department head is. When I worked in a place that required "business casual" (which usually meant something like dockers and a golf shirt), I wore black jeans all the time and never had an issue. If you work in a place where they require you to be more formal or have a suit and tie, then probably not.

Size is one part of it. But another is the fit and cut. Since it's regular guy. In general it is going to be fairly large for slim people just on the fit alone
