This is the stainless steel version. The case is more durable, the steel has a sleeker more polished look, and most importantly, the screen is made of sapphire, which is almost uncrackable. (The regular screen is a hardened glass, but still glass.)

The software is the same, so it depends on whether the above matters to you.

This is a great deal without having to jump through any 'hoops' -

If you have Verizon (and buy through Apple), you will get a $100 gift card, assuming you activate the watch on your account. This GC is sent directly by Verizon and can be used to pay your bill.

In addition, if you secured any Apple gift cards during the holiday promotions (where you go a $10 or $15 store gift card with $100 Apple FC purchase), the Apple deal becomes even sweeter.

In either case, this is still a solid deal - I did the above and just wanted to share in case anyone wanted to explore that option.

I got a S5 SS when the S7 was out of stock when it first came out and I don't regret it one bit. Coming from the S3 aluminum, the quality jump is tremendous. The stainless steel just makes the watch look less like a toy or fitness tracker. The stainless steel watch and a milanese loop makes it look good enough on a date or special occasion. Right now I'm rocking the S5 SS with a blue solo loop and it's my EDC. Super easy to use and goes with any outfit.
