The thermal carafe is nice too, keeping coffee warm-almost-hot from brewing at 8am through lunch at noon with no added heat (no heat plate, only vacuum carafe). Buy some Urnex Cafiza to clean it every few months (or sooner), and you're good to go. I've been very happy, but all that said, no, it's probably not worth the price difference between this and the Bonavita (or apparently this new-to-the-scene OXO with thermal carafe).
2. SHOWER HEAD: not all coffee makers shower heads are the same. This head sprays so that water evenly distributes. This guy shines here.
3. Kraft: stainless isn't my favorite because it can impart a metallic taste if you leave coffee over long periods. If you drink your coffee in a reasonable time frame- you shouldnt have issues.
Overall…this is a great buy and it will last you forever. For real. And if you need a part you can buy individual pieces. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger here as it's the lowest I've ever seen from a big box store.

For now I'd settle for an aeropress that was made of glass or stainless steel. Plastic appears to be the 'lead' of our generation.
Also wish they had an aeropress 3 times original size so I could make a pretty good BIG cup of coffee with little ado.
Aeropress is for kiddies that have yet to develop their true tastes. Also, a dumb little plastic tube that makes an eyedropper full is for fools.
