That used to be the law until it was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2018 (South Dakota v. Wayfair). Now states can require any retailer that has a minimum amount of sales in that state to collect tax. All states that collect sales tax have those laws now.

This is a legit store. It's tax exempt because it's ran by a Jewish community. You can walk in and get whatever you want brick and mortar. It's actually interesting to see with all of the conveyor belts on the ceiling.

Sales tax is dictated by states and most states require online stores to charge taxes even if there's no physical presence. It's shifted over time and caught up to online shopping, unfortunately.

It isn't tax exempt. They didn't have to charge tax for many places due to laws about where the brick & mortar retail location does business, but that's largely changed for most states. Now, they instead technically charge tax but offer a store credit card that deducts the tax amount during checkout as a "reward" to make up for the change.

Price is good but certainly not best product for $$$. It's just the convenience if you are already tied to the Ring eco-system. I have couple of different floodlight cams and they have better videos & brighter/wide angle lights.
