Costco [costco.com]has the sponges on sale $13 for 21 which is a better deal for those that have membership.

Everyone needs sponges and these types of deals help people get to 5 items for 15% S&S which can be a huge discount depending on what else you have on your S&S.

6 count sponges don't really seem like a deal to me at that price compared to the 9 count deal.
Agreed, getting the 9-count and the brush instead. Also wasn't seeing the coupon for the 6-count.

This isn't a deal. C'mon man. $.80 off?! If $.80 is what's determining whether you buy sponges or not - you shouldn't be on this site.
You must've not come across a toilet paper deal yet where you truly see SDers at work.. laugh out loud

I'm seeing that 9-count sponges are NLA.

Is the brush good for scrubbing one's back or are the bristles too rough?

If one wants a shiny, squeaky clean back, then go to town with it. But keep in mind, no pain, no gain ;-)

On a serious note, I would think it's a bit too hard/rough for human skin.

No. It's just not built for that, the handle is wrong, bristles too rough. My favorites come from Bed Bath and Beyond

9 count non-scratch sponge.
Those who missed the 9 count heavy duty sponge deal, this is about 20 something cents more but still a good deal. Clip $1.82 coupon and I got $4.38 before tax with 15% S&S.

FYI- It may even be $2 off in store as I think I picked that 21 pack up for about 11 as my last Costco pack is running low

So, a troll, then, if that's what you're after.
