Coca-Cola.com Offers FAQ, (Formerly My Coke Rewards [MCR]):

There is no specific end date for the program.

- Inactivity

Each particular Coke promotion may have its own activity clause.

Barq's, Coke, Coke Zero, Dasani, Diet Coke, Fanta, Fresca, Mellow Yellow, Minute Maid Lemonade, Pibb, Sprite, Seagram's, Tab. (Powerade & Zero & Minute Maid Juices in the big black caps no longer have UTC codes.)

- Values:
Point values per code are no more, All codes are equal value, but check promotion. Check packaging for a MyCokeRewards Label! Not all Coke packages have the MCR logo, (i.e. 6-pack w/glass bottles).
However, in Coke's Give Program to schools, codes still have different values to school donations, see wiki below!

- List of Accepted MCR Letter & Number Code Characters & Character Substition

There are 25 total characters, (letters or numbers only), that are accepted in 14-character MCR codes, (out of 36 available, A-Z, and 1-0). Five of the characters may also be input as substitutions for other similar-looking characters. Either upper- or lower-case letters are accepted. The available characters are:

Letters: B F H J K L M N P R T V W X (No C D E G* I O* Q S* U* Y Z)
Numbers: 4 5 6 7 9 0 (No 1 2 3 8*)

* The five accepted substitute characters for similar-looking characters:
  • B = 8
  • V = U
  • 5 = S
  • 6 = G
  • 0 = O (Zero, '0', is the officially accepted character according to MCR error messages; letter 'O' is the substitute.)

- drink soda
- participate/lurk on this board
- ask friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to save
- dumpster diving
- jumping out of cars upon seeing flaps on the side of the road
- referring a friend on the site
- ask Maids to save for those who travel
- ask recycling centers to save
- purchase on eBay
- sporting events, zoos, parks, etc
- make trades
- become buddies with vending machine stockers
- become the vending machine stocker

I'm assuming that's a bit of an accounting thing. In other words, they definitely have a very good idea of how many unredeemed codes are out there in the world. And, they have a value assigned to them. In that way, the value of the codes that go unredeemed at the end will be donated.

Right, thank you, I assume accounting, and the product-sold-code-unredeemed scenario sounds possible ... though I don't see why they would need to do that unless they took some sort pre-redemption tax break on which they now need to make good. Who knows. I've long thought that old saw, "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics" should go "... and then statistics, and accounting!"

So - In the end Coke Codes are only good for Donations

But the ones not redeemed will be donated anyway from when they say

Probably would have made more sense to stop putting codes on products a couple of years sooner than now . . . .

But we were expecting this for a couple of years now. They really must have had a huge inventory of caps. I know that where I work our custom products have a one year inventory in case of supply disruptions, but Coke must have had about a 3 year supply of caps.EEK!

I've been entering codes for donations to schools in recent months, but I found the process not to be something I enjoyed. After reading this thread and receiving the email about codes going away and unentered codes being donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs anyway, I dumped three large bags of caps and am done collecting caps.

It's the end of an era. My brain is still trained to see flaps and caps as something valuable (like money!) so it will likely take a while to break that habit.

That would be over a 6 year supply. And caps were re-designed last spring on most coke products, much easier to read, no clear seal inside.
They also redesigned all the twelve packs some time ago,but still had codes on them.

Haha, sorry my computer got lame, and I wasn't inspired to chime in for some time!

I did use a movie pass and free popcorn and pop a lot of us won in December, for Avatar II and that last dinosaur movie, they worked great.

Same here I just found it too time consuming. I even tried scanning codes with the mobile App in the past but it usually gave 4-5 digits as an X not detected the correct letter/number me having to just end up looking at the caps anyway which just led me back to entering them manually.

I may keep a few of each brand I have just for the memory of the "Ghost of "C0KE Code Entry Past, lol, but my hoard box of 2 to 3000 whatever it is going to the trash asap. SPRING CLEANING.

I am reading it like this as well and to me that means I dont have to waste time entering them as the value will be donated either way.

Same here - I just Dumped some at the Recycling Center and I am going to Dump more as I find them - They are being donated anyway.

It is just not worth the tedious job of entering codes.

Let Coke do it for me . . . . Dead Deal

I didn't say it initially so as to keep things clear, but I also think you're right that they're obligated to because of making an earlier tax related claim.
