As far as I know Target requires you to create an account to be able to check out online (i.e. they don't do "guest checkout"). Once you create your account you can add multiple gift cards to it (there's a "gift cards" option in the sign-in menu), then use that gift card balance to pay for your chekout.
As a heads up, the first gift card you add to your account becomes the "primary" card. Additional cards can be added as independent cards (but you probably wouldn't want to), or can be added so that they add to the value of the primary card (which is what you'd want). If you mistakenly add several cards as independent cards, it's still possible to "combine" them after the fact, so don't be too worried about having at it
Hmm, we're definitely seeing things differently here: a "rounding up cents" type of giving is for small-fry like us, or at least like me, whose charitable contributions are measured on that scale. It's a "painless" way for individuals of my demographic to give to charity, and due sheer numbers, it adds up. Stores that do this are simply making an opportunity for church mice like me to donate.
High net worth individuals, and certainly corporations, use other mechanisms of gicing: walmart's big fuzzy feel good idea for itself, for instance, is community-based giving, and theitr 2022 charitable donation to it was ~ $1.5 billion.
If it makes any of us feel better we could advise them to claim they came up with that number by rounding up cents on their sales registers :-D
Except, a statista blurb says "In fiscal year 2022, there were approximately 230 million customer visits each week to Walmart stores throughout the world". As a napkin calculation that makes 11.9 billion customer visits for the year; if we assume _all_ of them bought something, and _all_ of them contributed the max rounding amount, 9c, i.e. rounding up to the next multiple of 10c, that still comes out to only $1.1 billion https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif
(If I'm missing something obvious I must be just extra-slow today, sorry :} )
sidenote: here's a decent comparision between a million and a billion: a million seconds after conception (that's just conception, not even birth) you're still just a tiny cluster of cells ~ 10 days old; a billion seconds after conception, you're ~ 32 _years_ old :-)
People are far more likely to say Yes to rounding up if their total is $24.91 than if it is $25.04 though. So, even not factoring in the people who said no, the average round up will be much less than 50 cents.
as for any tax deduction implications, it isn't as if they are coming out ahead. If the total is $24.50 and you round up to $25 and they donate 50 cents, it isn't as if they are claiming a revenue of $24.50 and a tax donation of 50 cents. They are claiming a revenue of $25 with the 50 cent donation. so their taxable income on that transaction is going to be the same either way. $24.50
BTW ... all this is ripe for an admin coming by and removing as off-topic, so I/we may as well save on wasted typing.
Good day, all, and good luck
Something has gone wrong and we can't accept your entry at this time.
Please try again later.
You know when companies ask if you want to round up at the register? THAT'S the real shady business. They take YOUR money and claim it as their own charitable donation.

Congrats to you too
I used Firefox w/ containers for years, didn't keep cookies, the browser autofilled my creds, and clicking "sign in" used to log me in.
Then sms starts, I don't want to give out my number, and use one of those "receive sms online" ones (though, best I can tell, it seems ok to give out number to coke). I change settings to keep cookies, select "keep me signed in", and after a couple weeks of that am being auto-logged-in (on Firefox).
Then bot checks start, and I get 'em every time
After several weeks of that I try the Brave browser, and same thing -- bot err.
Then I move to chrome w/ an mcr-specific profile, keep all cookies, select "keep me signed in", no longer get bot errs, do get sms, but after a couple weeks am being auto-logged-in as before.
Then chrome goes and updates (as ancientalien reported a week-some ago). That hoses the works: bot err every time.
After a week of that I delete the chrome profile, create a new one, try to sign in. Accept everything in the new cookie consent popup (though I doubt that matters). No bot err, but get sms challenge. Unfortunately by this time the online number I was using no longer exists, and I can't find a new one.
I try logging every few days, and still get sms challenge.
Then yesterday, boom, no sms, and logs in on clicking Sign In. What's more, thereafter auto-logs-in on closing/opening browser.
So, nothing specific that I did -- maybe some combination of IP + cookies + whatever browser fingerprint. More, seems like even if you get an sms challenge you could simply close shop, come back some time later, try again (and again and again) and you just may luck into a session w/o an sms challenge.
Of course, this is not the way to win prizes :-D
I've now turned off chrome updates.
