Lowe's [lowes.com] has the 30-Piece Set 12-point Standard (SAE) and Metric Combination Standard Combination Wrench Set for $19.98. I picked these up for my dad when it was $25 during the Christmas sales and thought that was already a pretty good deal.

$20 for 30 wrenches with lifetime warranty seems pretty good to me.

This went down to $12.49 in February 2021, so it is possible these will continue to fall. However, that price was YMMV, whereas this seems widely available.

Picked these up last summer for the same price. Changed a car battery and used for light stuff around the house, they've held up fine. Mine are labeled made in India.
So the thing here is that the $25 price was their price for Christmas which was already not bad. For example this 24 piece set without the case is $45 normally. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-2...5001994767

$20 brings this set in line with the frontpage deal from last year. https://slickdeals.net/e/14089025-kobalt-30-piece-wrench-set-for-19-98?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

Glad to hear they are holding up okay. I don't expect my dad to use them often so I'm sure they'll hold up fine for him.

I personally have the husky set seen here https://slickdeals.net/f/15531223-husky-combination-wrench-set-28-piece-28cw002nc-24-88-at-home-depot?src=rcm_category_h

While I've been pretty happy with the husky set, I like that the kobalt has 2 more standard length wrenchs

I have the Husky set from years back. Back then, the deal on it was for $13. Ever since I got it, I reach for wrenches a lot more often now. Which tells me I use to force more things with sockets, extensions, and angle joints than I should have.

Call me bias, but I think the Husky is the more complete set simply because it has an 18. It loses a standard length 11, 13, and 15 for that 18 but it has 13 and 15 in stubby length, which you can double wrench trick if you need the leverage. The 11 is a pretty useless size and if you really need it, you can use the 7/16.

I've had these Kobalt wrenches for years and they are still nice and shiny. I go for these over my craftsman USA wrenches. I have hit them with small sledge hammer and there is barely visible marks. I got mine with the pouches which I love.

Why tool companys offer sets like this and not have a carrying case is a bad decision IMO. They probaly have to drop price drastically to get rid of them because nobody wants a 30 piece set without a carrying case.

Just putting in my two cents: I bought this from a deal a while ago and keep them in the house for various uses. The only real drawback is the incredibly annoying plastic case/rack it comes with. Wrenches fall out of the slots frequently. Other than that I enjoy this set a lot. Worth $20 any day of the week.

IMHO while the case may keep the wrenches neat, orderly and tidy I find that carrying cases end up taking up too much real estate. A tool box/chest just won't accommodate many tools with a carrying case other than jeweler screwdrivers.
I do have this set from purchase 1 year ago and for the most part enjoy it.

Good wrenches, I have the ones with the ratcheting end, and after 3 years of heavy use one broke. Took it to lowes, no questions asked, no receipt ,replacement. Their lifetime warranty is worth it alone.

I would buy these if they were from other hardware stores, I don't trust their customer service

I bought this during the last deal (don't remember the price) and am happy with every day house hold use.
