This is NOT working at the pump.

Does the Alt ID need to be with dashes: like 123-456-7890 or is it 1234567890.

Is the 427 prefix also required at the pump? Thanks.
I don't think the idea is to use your Speed Perks number at the pump, but to link your Speed Perks number into Fuel Rewards. Then you can use whatever your Fuel Rewards number is at the pump. Or a credit card you've associated with Fuel Rewards if you did that on the website.

But I may be off base - there's been no shortage of confusion on this deal.

I used the online chat at Advanced Auto Parts and got my 16-digit SpeedPerks number, but it still doesn't work on the Fuel Rewards page.

I have no idea how to do this. I have both a Fuel Rewards and Speed Perks account. How do I actually link them? Not at the pump, but in either account? I have my 427 number, but I don't know where to enter it. On the FR site, it says I need to add a FR card, but I thought that that's what having a FR account meant. So confusing. Even the instructions don't say WHERE to enter that 427 number.

Oh, and btw, FR just changed its TM Tuesdays policy. Used to be that if you waited till just after midnight on Tuesday (technically early Wednesday morning) to enter the current TMT FR number into your FR account, you'd be able to use the extra 10 cent savings through Saturday, giving you an extra day.

But now they made it so that if you don't enter the number by 11:59pm on Tuesday, it expires. So no more extra day, you have to use it by Friday. I found this out last night. The base 5 cents discount also went down to 3 cents because I didn't enter the current FR # by the expiration.

Ok, figured it out. Ignore the "You don't have a Fuel Rewards card linked to your account." in the "FUEL REWARDS® CARD" section on top and go to the section just below, "LOYALTY CARDS AND ACCOUNTS", click on "link card or account", then enter the SP 427 #. Even that didn't work right off and I had to do it several times before it took.
Thanks man. This worked. My account showing .28 cents off, expring 2/28/22. Wonder if this stacks with T-mobile.

2.99 regular / 3.49 Premium / 3.09 Diesel

Wawa

Similar/same results with Costco's nearby.

Blahblahblah...but but but membership fees.

Even with the extra quarter, they're still light years ahead of everyone else on price lol. I got one by me that's like $0.80 more expensive than the average. Shocker, he never had anyone at his pumps when I drive by. He does get store traffic though, so maybe the prices inside aren't as bad as at the pumps. That's on Long Island, that is. Might be more palatable in other regions.

If anyone lives near a Sam's Club, another deal currently posted is for a 1 year Sam's membership for net price of $5. Looking on a gas price comparison app, Sam's/Costco are $0.60/cheaper than Shell every day of the week. Even after the $5 Sam's membership, you come out cheaper than this Fuel Rewards deal in just one fill up (assuming 20 gallons). Assuming you take advantage of all 20 gallons this offer applies to, it saves $5 on one occasion. The Sam's option saves you $12-$5 on the first fill up, and then $12 every tank of gas after that.
Buy Shell gift cards at a discount of at least 10% (best time to load up is during the Thanksgiving to New Year time when deals exist for these at grocery stores or Best Buy), 15 to 20% % at times when combined with 5% back in credit card rewards.
Even excluding any fuel reward savings that will be better pricing than Costco/BJs/Sams/anything else.
Example (this is the true price in my area today but the difference is typical in any area): Costco Price 3.03, Shell price 3.29, Even though I am paying 3.29 I already have at least a 33 cent discount on that price making it only 2.97 which is better than Costco by 6 cents. If you had fuel rewards it would be even 5 cents better at the least. Plus you avoid having to wait in the long lines which is typical in my area for Costco and BJs.

I got 28 cents too. Hoping/assuming it goes up to either 35 or 40 cents next Tuesday. I just have to remember to do it before midnight. No more hacking another day of use. Said I have till the end of February to use the 28 cent discount, which I assume refers to the 25 cent AAP discount.

Interesting. Everything is linked for me but I'm not seeing any indication of the reward - just $.05 off.

So frustrating, keep getting errors when attempting to link accounts. What format are you entering your number...427-XXX-XXX-XXXX or 427XXXXXXXXXX?

Make sure you enable text notifications in your Speedperks account and wait a few minutes. Close the add a card dialog while you wait a few as well. Mine eventually went through... make sure you are entering 427+full10digitphonenumber
Am I the only one that went back and turned on text notifications and hours later still getting "invalid card". This is pissing me off.

I was banging my head against the wall trying to get this to work with the mobile number I saw listed on AAP's site for my Speed Perks communication preferences with the same issues others had (Invalid card and General Error). I saw another comment about chatting to get the 16 digit ID but when talking to the rep, she wasn't able to find my account with the number I used for the Speed Perks comms (it's an old Google Voice number I use for this sort of stuff) and instead was able to find it with my primary cell number that I don't see anywhere on my profile page. I tried that (427-XXX-XXX-XXXX) on the FR page and it worked instantly.

Your BJs has diesel? I'm jealous. None of the ones I've been to have diesel and the one closest to me is apparently one of the few in FL that doesn't even have gas.

417 or 427? Also, sounds like some people had success with 227. For what it's worth, my 16 digit number worked with no leading digits.

My bad. I mean 427. Does your 16 digit start with 888?
