It's great if it's not stored outside during the day time, otherwise an vacuum insulated bottle would be better.

What's the benefits of this over just using a thermo?

Lightweight? Easy to store? I'm on the fence for this also.

Thermos or insulated bottle:
Can be dented
Broken vacuum seals when handled roughly
Insulates very well
Usually well below 32oz for this size (tend to be heavy and large for any given interior volume)

This:
Nearly indestructible
Mediocre insulation
Optional use with Nalgene (ie, pack away)
Won't fit in any cup holders with cover on
Generally very light for the volume

I could go both ways, but with a dozen Nalgenes on hand, I'm in for a couple.

I used one of these in my van build actually to help prevent light from entering my sinks water supply and promoting bacterial growth.

My wife and I will bring nalgenes if we're going on a shorter hike and these will do nicely without adding much "heft". I don't expect them to keep the water ice cold in 100 degree heat like a vacuum thermos, but it's gotta be better than the greenhouse that the clear bottles alone turn into when the sun is blazing. $10ish for two isn't bad at all.

I never knew this even existed. I was using a "12 can bag size" Coleman cooler for my Nalgene bottle during tennis in the summer. This would be more convenient to carry to the court. I do use 2 ice packs though and bring an extra smaller water bottle though with the Coleman though.

How well does this keep the water cold? Can it keep the water ice cold for over 2 hours on a 85 degree day?
