This is one of the most gorgeous looking, well shot movies in the history of film, topped off with a phenomenal performance by Michael Fassbinder who literally steals every scene he's in.

And thus ends everything nice I have to say about the movie.

How can people call it a great Sci-fi movie?

Scientist being scientifically STUPID makes the movie bad. It looks gorgeous that's for sure.

Let me go on an alien planet and take my helmet off and breathe the air for starters.

Aliens Covenant does even worse things. Let me take a nice whiff of some nice alien plant spores.

There's a reason the older classic Sci fi movies still hold up well and are better than these newer sequels.
