I did the numbers on these and you're really just saving on the 1 year of Cam Plus for three cameras ($36?). If you don't want that feature of care for it, it's the same price if you bought everything direct from Wyze.

This is.. not helpful. Are you trying to highlight that they had a firmware bricking issue? Are you trying to highlight that support replaced users bricked cameras? What's the goal here?

For what it's worth - I've owned a Wyze Pan Cam for over a year and never had a bricked firmware issue. I grabbed two V3 Cameras over the past 2 months and both did multiple major and minor firmware updates without bricking (currently running v4.36.8.15).

I'd call it an isolated issue that Wyze support handled as expected and if I had a use for more cameras, would definitely snag this deal.

I lost trust in Wyze as a company they have so many issues and they just drop the product and move onto another. They are biting more then they can chew and they do not care about customers just becoming a public company.

And that's why you use rtsp for v3.

No bricks, just works.

I see this come up often..

FEIT does the same thing as Wyze Cams do for free. General movement notifications, saving to SD card, live-view via app. You DO NOT need to pay a fee to use Wyze cameras - I never have and I never will even when I was offered the grandfathered cheap whatever plan a year or two ago.

Paid features for Wyze only get you extended cloud recording vs the few seconds default, enhanced notifications to alert you to specific type of motion vs. "something",

Frankly, I'd get more Amazon Cloud Cams before I got either Wyze or Feit, but they stopped making them after switching to Blink, sadly..

One downside for Wyze cams is the lack of notification if the camera is offline, something I loved the Amazon Cloud Cams for.

We have owned and been using a number of Wyze Cams since 2018. We have never experienced a bricked cam problem due to the firmware or anything else. We know that it can happen - it just has never happened to us.

I'm running 6 Wyze cams, mix of V1 and V2. 5 of them are outside, and still work even though technically not waterproof. A few hiccups along the way with firmware and app upgrades, but no bricking. The biggest trouble I've had is with the original contact and motion sensor firmware, there has been bricking issues with those and low battery. But overall, for the money I've spent, they've been great. Fully recommend Wyze products.

Package deal sold direct from Costco

$149.99 after instant $20. Free shipping. $20 off available through 1/20/2022 or while supplies last.

Includes: 2 Wyze Cam Outdoor (Wireless) with Base Station, 1 Wyze Cam v3, 3 SD Cards, 1 Year of Cam Plus Per Camera
Color Night Vision
Person, Package Detection and More with CamPlus
1080p HD Video Livestream and Recording
Two-Way Audio & Siren

Just to price compare the three cameras alone cost $147.96 from Wyze direct. The value here is you are getting 3 32GB SD cards and 1 year of Cam Plus for essentially free (Cam Plus is worth $15 annually if purchased annually).

This is a good deal if you can make use of all the cameras especially with the piece of mind of buying from Costco.

If you have access to the AC power outlet(s) outside, you are much better off going with v3 all the way for outdoor use even if you do not get the extras in this package. Wyze Cam Outdoor isn't bad - it just has limitations.

And if you do not have a power outlet available to run a v3 but there is an outdoor lamp, you can get a Wyze Lamp Socket to screw into the bulb socket to power the v3 and let the camera also control the lamp socket functions (auto on/off, proximity sensor, delay timer and schedule).

This bundle includes 3 32GB SD cards. The SD cards aren't worth much but if you have use for all 3 cameras this deal is worth considering.

Check the wyze user forums for tips, usually it's just a matter of making sure you're using 2.4GHz wifi, not 5GHz. The other common issue is the SSID or wifi password have special characters in them.
