I did the transfer with my one (1) free line. The free line transferred, but the T-Mobile Insider discount cannot be stacked on top of the the free lines. You get the greater of the following: T-Mobile Insider applied to all lines as if you were paying for ALL of them OR the paid lines+free lines, whichever costs less.

What plan are you on? The insider discount for the most part discounts from the minimum plan amount, while the free lines are for the most part separate, as they are free already. Some things change if you get to 9 lines with most all free. . .but if you don't have that already don't worry about that aspect.

i.e. if you have 5 lines (3 free) the insider discount only discounts from the 2-8 plan minimum of 2 paid lines. So if you have Magenta Max it's 140 - 28= $112 whether you have 2 lines or 8, as long as all paid lines past 2 are free. If you have a paid line past 3 (assuming you did 2 lines paid plus 3rd line free) it would then be $30-$6 (insider discount) for that line
