I have magenta plan of 2 paid + 1 free. I have 20% off already and am paying $96/mo. Rep says more benefits and better phone offers if i switch to Max. I do need 2 phones to replace the aging phones we're currently using. Rep says I can switch to Max and then switch back. For the knowledgeable people, how much faith should i put into this? i don't want to stick with a huge bill for devices after switching back.
On the other hand, I have a family member with 7 lines (3 paid/4 free) on One Plan with One Plus promo and kick backs on all lines. paying about $88-$96/mo depends on how many kick backs they got that month. Some people on the plan want newest and greatest devices so they want to go to Max, while some just want low bill. Rep said they'd have minimal/negligible increase on the bill if switch to Max and the device promotions would more than offset it in the long run. The rep offered to call them back tomorrow to help them switch if they agreed.
There are 2 people wanting to get on this One Plan account but they are waiting for the group's final decision before joining/or not. I thought I would ask here to have some numbers for them to get an idea whether it was beneficial to switch to Max. Also, does anyone know how T-mobile do discounts on 20% off and kickback? how is the bill calculated? I remember reading some people got kick backs applied on free lines as well. However, their bill doesn't seem like it does. and i don't think the kick back is $10, more like $8?
Thanks for the help!
I would also like to help as much as I can!
1. Did you get it from an in-store employee?
2. Did you have to add a new line to account to do so?
2. No
PM please
Thanks

I'm not exactly sure about the specifics, but I think that's what I heard.
I haven't heard any word of a new free line yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another one.
Currently, I pay 113-123 per month, depending on kickbacks (One Plan w/ Plus Promotion Upgrade, includes Family version of Netflix and Kickbacks for 4 lines). 4 are paid lines 2 are free lines.
In order for me to switch to the Magenta Max w/ Insider 20% discount, as well as keep the monthly the same, I'd have to relinquish 2 paid lines. For 2 paid and 2 Free lines, on this plan, my monthly bill would be $112.
What's strange to me is that there have been a few people that reported ridiculously low plans with multiple lines (and many free) that are getting per month bills that are sub 100. I still have yet to see anybody explain or break down how that's possible at all.
Your current group One+ promotion is a really great deal. If you already have a code, I'd just call t-mobile and have them break down what the new bill would be with you, prior to switching. That'll give you an idea if it's worth it. If not, but you have a code to use, I'm still in need of one and would greatly appreciate if I could use it, in the event you are not.
I don't know how ppl got code without adding a line, if they did then I did something wrong. FYI
I did a chat with T-Mobile (TForce) and I don't think they really understood. They gave me a price of $220/mth ($200/mth with autopay) and explained that the 4-line from family plan would go to Magenta at $170/mth with 3rd line free and the moving the 5th line would become a paid line making the plan $220/mth. I don't think they realize or know that the free line should come over to the Magenta plan still as a free line.
Its so difficult when every customer service person has their own interpretations of the rules.
I'm not sure I understand why they needed you to add another line to your account. Is that to get the code for the 20% off?
