Using GameStop PUR $5 certificates on digital currency was a popular slick deal, turning a $15 membership into a $45 profit.
Effective immediately, $5 monthly reward certificates are no longer applicable to digital currency. I just tried to use it in store and was told it no longer works and I have linked a post from someone posting the internal memo.
Hopefully this PSA can save people some gas or rile up some protests from customers to change their policy.

I just tried it on $5 Nintendo eShop and while it shows correct in the checkout as $0, when I click to process the order it just hangs. Anyone else seeing similar?
Lol if there was something I actually needed to buy, I'd just buy that rather than messing with the $5 eShop card. Ok I'll hold out until toward the end of the month and if push comes to shove I'll get the $10 eShop card. Thanks!
How did u get it work? I get this message when adding the offer for 10$ PSN card .
The item in your cart doesn't qualify for your available discounts
I was able to use my $5 monthly reward in store on a $10 Nintendo eshop card.
I then used the code for the reward online for ANOTHER $10 Nintendo eshop card (digital delivery).
So I got $20 of eshop credit for $10 using February's monthly reward.

I finally got around to using it and it worked. I used it in store and then the code online right after. Used both $5 discounts on a $10 Nintendo eshop code. $20 for $10. It's worked like this now for the past 3 months. 😁
Yeah I got it to work too. For some reason, the coupon wasn't working online at the beginning of the month. But I got it to work on the 8th
While I wish I could just get $5 only, I'll take 50% off over nothing + savings on gas for the car trip to GameStop.
