We had the worst time with this service and had to switch back to cable internet. I spent probably more than 10 hours on the phone over a week with their tech support. It would work fine for a brief moment and then nothing despite appearances that everything was OK. It was a complete nightmare.

My speeds are around 400/40, but it's useless if you do online gaming.
For office and home use and streaming, it works well.

see below. you can do your own research too.

Hello! I apologize that you are having issues with Home Internet. I personally use T-Mobile Home Internet for Gaming, and I can agree with you it can be a little frustrating getting it to work with Video Games if at all. The reason for this (confirmed by a Supervisor from Home Internet department) is because the High-Speed Gateway lacks the "UPnP" feature which in short terms is used to connect to certain aspects of a Video Game such as Chat Systems for example. Without UPnP, video gaming can be tough. T-Mobile is aware of the issue, and they are working on a fix, but don't know when it will be released. I hope my answer has helped. Have a great week!

and

had issues with the port forwarding. The issue is that t-mobile and others use a carrier grade NAT which will never assign you a public IP when connecting to the internet. You will be assigned a shared IP to WAN which means there is no way to direct any particular port to your device directly. Unless t-mobile offers a service to allow a public or dedicated IP this probably will never be supported, even if the router they provide has it available in their settings

Love my T Mobile home internet....saving $20/mo compared to Spectrum with speeds at least 2 to 7 times faster! (150mbps download up to as high as 500mbps). If you're close to the towers, you'll love it....seems to be hit or miss though, although I've heard more people like it than not.

Darn it. I just signed up. I will call them to see if they can apply this promotion. My experience has been good so far. I am in the Houston area and my connection has been solid ever since I have connected to the network. If it continues to be reliable then I don't ever need to go back to cable.
Glad to hear it's reliable. I wonder how many businesses have converted to wireless Internet. In the past, wired has always been more reliable than wireless. Although in areas underserved with wired connections, a good wireless signal is a godsend.

I've had this service since August. First couple of months was really bad. Their customer service is pretty bad and sometimes takes up to an hour to reach someone. I had to call so many times to get things fixed.

Then I was able to get them to replace my gateway (modem) and so far, service has been really consistent so far. Since I've had the service, the internet has only stopped working for one day. They were working on the 5G tower that day according to CS. Now I'm a fan.

Like everyone else has mentioned, it's very hit or miss if you will get good service with this thing. Definitely run it parallel with your current ISP for a month before you cancel just to make sure.

Has anybody used this with a houseful of smart devices and lots of kids streaming? I would be so happy to ditch Xfinity but I'm wondering if it can handle heavy loads.

Yes, I connected router to the modem so it can handle heavy loads easily.

Yes works very well, I have 2-3 bar cell signal and I am getting speeds of 300-500mbps consistently. Placed it in attic for best reception.

What's the catch to get the $50 rebate? Do you need to sign up for a year? & how much is the monthly service?

well sheesh! I just received the equipment today, not yet set it up. Haven't cancelled my cable internet yet. Gonna run them together for 1 month. I'd really love to kick my ISP to the curb... where are you located that it didn't work for you?
I've been running my T-mobile Home Internet for close to 2 years now. Other than needing an occasional reboot 2 or 3 times a year it has worked well. Getting downloads on the 5G with speeds anywhere from 140 Mbps to 325 Mbps. I kicked Spectrum to the curb and don't see ever going back.

Promo is live.

Anyone know if once you receive the device its locked to the geographical home address or could you theoretically move it around?

I heard you can move it around, but they discourage it. If you wanted to take it on a road trip, this thing has a battery in it, and I don't think they'll disconnect it if it goes out of town. It's pretty much a sim card in a wifi device.

Wow, crazy how you have it in LA but I live just outside of Chicago and my options are either Comcast (reliable but crazy expensive) or AT&T (cheaper but unreliable).
I have lived in a lot of places and reliable but crazy expensive vs cheaper but unreliable seems to be the standard. Names change, but experiences don't.

Unless you are really unlucky and only have one ISP. Then you get unreliable and crazy expensive. Never the other way around though. Five years ago I lived at a place where CenturyLink's fastest plan was $65 a month for 3 mbps.

Did you just add Home internet to your account online and then contacted a rep over a phone to get the rebate and TV hub?
