We had the worst time with this service and had to switch back to cable internet. I spent probably more than 10 hours on the phone over a week with their tech support. It would work fine for a brief moment and then nothing despite appearances that everything was OK. It was a complete nightmare.

My speeds are around 400/40, but it's useless if you do online gaming.
For office and home use and streaming, it works well.

see below. you can do your own research too.

Hello! I apologize that you are having issues with Home Internet. I personally use T-Mobile Home Internet for Gaming, and I can agree with you it can be a little frustrating getting it to work with Video Games if at all. The reason for this (confirmed by a Supervisor from Home Internet department) is because the High-Speed Gateway lacks the "UPnP" feature which in short terms is used to connect to certain aspects of a Video Game such as Chat Systems for example. Without UPnP, video gaming can be tough. T-Mobile is aware of the issue, and they are working on a fix, but don't know when it will be released. I hope my answer has helped. Have a great week!

and

had issues with the port forwarding. The issue is that t-mobile and others use a carrier grade NAT which will never assign you a public IP when connecting to the internet. You will be assigned a shared IP to WAN which means there is no way to direct any particular port to your device directly. Unless t-mobile offers a service to allow a public or dedicated IP this probably will never be supported, even if the router they provide has it available in their settings

Love my T Mobile home internet....saving $20/mo compared to Spectrum with speeds at least 2 to 7 times faster! (150mbps download up to as high as 500mbps). If you're close to the towers, you'll love it....seems to be hit or miss though, although I've heard more people like it than not.

sadly, my TMobile Home experience has taken a bad turn. It still works, but my initial speeds of about 150mbps has slowly fallen to about 15mbps. I haven't changed location or done anything different with the router. I have it set up with a fan to cool it at all times. I live in the boonies, so i can't believe congestion is an issue...but i won't continue to pay $50/month for these speeds

Not true. My device has never seen my home address
So can I take the device/router to another city/state (or on the road with battery backup) and test out the speeds there even though TMo website says they don't support that address or zip code?

Just got a text from T-Mobile that my rebate is ready to redeem, including a link. Clicked on link and entered my mobile number (primary # on my TMO account, NOT the new home internet #). A debit card number shows up with $50 balance. Immediately used it to refill my Amazon gift card balance. Within one minute, gift card purchase went through. Spent no more than 3 minutes from getting TMO text to completing my $50 Amazon gift card purchase, which never expires. Whole process could not be easier.

My entire process from ordering TMO Home Internet, to receiving gateway within 4 days, to quick and painless initial setup, to daily use, and getting my rebate has been extremely easy. I am sorry to hear folks who are either not already TMO customers or with Sprint having such difficulties. They really need to work on making this easier to non-TMO customers if they want to grow their customer-base.

Also another quick update...for the last 30+ days, there have been 0 outages, not even small blips. My 24x7 Nest Hello cloud recording has had zero gaps, and I've been checking everyday. And I've been running speedtests everyday as well and about 98% of time, my speeds have been solid around 500Mbps down and 30Mbps up. The other 2% either dips down to 400/20 or goes up to 600/40. This was done at random times throughout the day, including congested time. I have yet to reboot my gateway during that whole time and bands have been locked onto N41/B2 the entire time. I think my 2 external antennas help with the solid connections and consistent speeds alot.

I used t-mobile chat support to order the service. I got the 5G TrashCan 3 days later. Turned it on, followed the simple instruction to configure wifi via the app, connected the Cat6 cable to my mesh wifi ap and I'm back online. Super simple. Getting over 500Mbps up and 60Mbps down. Well, cancel Xfinity took much longer than ordering and setting up that.

Terms of service states it's to be used at service address, but I've seen others on YT taking this on the road without issues. But if they decided to, it wouldn't be hard for TMO to lock this down since gateway has built-in gps.

I was thinking of taking the device to my new house in FL and testing out the connection there even though TMo says that it only works in my current location and not in FL. If I find that it works satisfactorily in my new FL home, then I'll keep it else give it back.

Let me talk to a rep before I get it. Else it is a waste of time.

If you have a 5G TMO phone, it would give you rough idea of what you'll get with TMO Home Internet, at least this was my experience. I found the best spot in my home for strongest 5G signal with my phone. Then when I received the TMO gateway, I tested gateway and the sweet spot was identical. If you get no 5G signal with your phone, chances are you'll have horrible experience with TMO Home Internet.

The other possibility of no service is from what I've read, TMO is supposedly using excess bandwidth for the home internet service. If your area is always congested, I guess there would be no "excess bandwidth" left. Keep in mind TMO Home Internet is de-prioritized at the bottom so all their other services take priority. If they already have too many home internet subscribers in that area taking up "excess bandwidth", they may stop offering home internet in that area.

I regret testing this out. Cancelling has been a PIA. Took 3 agents over twitter to cancel and then no return shipping label yet.

I signed up this morning. CSA told me that the promo for the hub is no longer available, but was able to sign me up for a year of Paramount+ Essentials. Anybody else experience the same?

I'd like to order this for a relative in another state and would put my name with their address on the order.

Has anyone done this? I can't tell if T-Mobile does a credit check for this service, but if they do there would be a mismatch. Thanks.
