It's one of the largest aquarium in the world. So when I had the chance to visit on a business trip, I did. I had very little time to see, but I did it in an hour. It's not as big as what you would imagined one of the biggest aquarium to be. It's probably not much bigger than your local aquarium.

What? If it only took you an hour, you zipped through it.

Thanks. Ive been to the Aquarium twice. Not really worth going more than that, but if it's free I wouldn't mind another go around.

It is one of the largest aquariums. They house a 6.3 million gallon tank, maybe you didn't get to see that one? The acrylic panels on it are impressive.

Citypass may be a better option if going to more than one attraction

You're right that I zipped through it. At the same time I didn't feel like I missed anything. I just stood there after when I was done to see if I missed anything and I didn't feel like I didn't. Anyway, I was just expecting more. It's the largest aquarium so I didn't think I can even zip through it in an hour. Compare that to something like San Diego Zoo, you can never zip through that in an hour. I was expecting good 2.5 hours even if I zipped through for the largest aquarium. Even NYC aquarium, it takes about an hour to zip through. So you can imagine my disappointment. Anyway, just set your expectation as another aquarium and its a good experience. Just not vastly better than the one you have been to.

We recently visited Shedd Aquarium in Chicago with family and kids. And we spent about 4 hours in aquarium.

You're not wrong. Taking my family there for $125+ felt like a bit of a letdown, but we need to remember aquariums are ranked on water volume, not actual experience/variety. Still, seeing all those whale sharks and belugas is pretty unique and impressive!

Honestly, of the dozen or so aquariums I've visited, the one in Chattanooga, Tennessee is the best. And also the only one I've seen give equal attention to both fresh and salt water. There's just as much crazy and interesting stuff going on in the world's lakes and rivers as the oceans (at least the pelagic zone that gets most of the attention; deep sea is another beast altogether. Too bad we can't get Musk/Bezos/Branson as excited about that!)

I've never been to Georgia, or this aquarium obviously. But there is a great tv series, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9780...tep_ep_tt, of their operations.

I'm from Alabama. I have been to this place maybe 5 times in my life. It's honestly not that impressive outside of the giant saltwater tank. I prefer Chattanooga's tbh.

I don't live in GA, but if I did I would've loved to take my nephews to this aquarium

I live in Atlanta and have the membership so we go all the time and take our 2, 4 and 6 year old. It's always super crowded but the kids love it especially the dolphin show and touching the sting rays. The new shark exhibit is really cool too.

FYI: this discount also applies to the annual membership to save the 10% if you follow the link in OP's post.
