I used to love Rockport. Quality was amazing but now it's terrible. Wasn't it bought out by Reebok or something?
If you want nice quality shoes at a discount you just have to find a sierra trading post. That's my go to these days when I want quality for half price.

I'm wearing these right now. They're good except for placement of the lace at the ankle. It digs into my flesh and it's super annoying. I don't even tighten then much.
They're heavy too, but not terribly so. After breaking them in for a few days I took them on a 2 hour walk in the woods. All flat, some tree roots, mix of dirt and grass and the occasional gravel crossing. At the end of the walk, feet felt pretty okay. For 35 bucks, I guess they're fine. Certainly nothing to rave about.
Any chance that these would last over six months when your job is standing, walking on a cement floor? Buying 3 new pairs of shoes a year just for work is getting old.
Yes New Balance, I am giving you the stink eye for your short lived, low quality shoes.
Not waterproof and more than a few comments about soles being cheap
I still wear Rockports some, but like a lot of products, they are nowhere near the quality they used to be. If you want better quality, you're definitely going to have to pay for it.
Avoid this brand. Bought a pair of "dad shoes" a month ago and wore them very infrequently. Took the dog for a walk, stepped in some standing water and immediately my heels were wet. Contacted customer service - who were very responsive - and they said not their fault, as the shoes weren't waterproof. After a back and forth, including pictures, they decided they couldn't determine whether it was a defect or if I'd done something to cause holes in the heels. Wouldn't replace but offered me 20% on a purchase of new shoes.
