Be careful buying make up on Amazon for almost all is counterfeit. There have been insane chemicals used, and found in testing for there are no standards when it's made overseas, let's say in China.

Regular eyeshadows often use animal products like carmine as the red pigment, which is extracted by crushing a particular kind of bug. Vegan people protest it for animal protection reasons and some other people find the idea of using insect disgusting, even though it is pretty possible that everyone have eaten it as a food dye (Yes carmine is very safe and have been in human history since Middle Ages).

Yeah I don't buy any consumable products at all on Amazon. Ever. Pretty much everything on there is counterfeit in my experience or the risk is super high. Food, drinks, make up, shampoos, etc. ESPECIALLY if it's a third party even more. Anything that isn't a device or book etc I avoid on there and even then...

Any item tested on animals would also be non-vegan.

Many cosmetic products (as well as other consumables) are tested on animals in extremely cruel ways. Fortunately, more and more companies are beginning to get away from the practice and will indicate it on their packaging if they don't test on animals.
