It's a decent port. It has some frame rate issues that I wasn't expecting for such an old game. It's uncapped and varies a lot depending on the situation. Sometimes you'll get 60 FPS and others you'll get in the low 30s, but it didn't distract too much since the game doesn't really rely on having a rock-solid frame rate. I also had several crashes while playing through it, so be sure to save often or you're going to lose progress at a time or two. It autosaves, but that's only between zone transitions and you can spend over an hour in some of the areas if you're just playing it for the first time. My biggest gripe was not being able to queue up several actions and let them play out like I could on the PC, led to me having to micromanage some of the later fights a lot more than I would have liked. Also, the big text box at the top of the screen can be annoying in combat, hopefully they fix it at some point. It's kind of necessary in handheld mode, but it looks so garish when you're playing it on the TV.

For $15 it's a great game and this is the only conversion that lets you play with a controller and that natively supports widescreen, at the moment. It's almost a direct port of the android version, just without any graphical options. If you've never played it, this is probably the best way to experience it right now short of modding the PC version up, but it's a little bit rough around the edges. If you like Star Wars or just like Bioware games, I'd say it's worth the sale price.

Edit: Just grabbed it to check because I hadn't tried before, but it doesn't seem to support touchscreen control on the Switch. Not sure if that would be a dealbreaker for anyone because of disabilities or anything, but just thought I'd add that bit in. Going to have to use the thumbsticks on the Switch.
I bought this when it came out, I thought $15 was a steal to get this on my Switch even though it's about $2 on any other platform. Having a blast replaying it. One of the best games ever made. I was NOT a Star Wars fan in 2003, and only a casual fan of the movies now, you can go into this with no knowledge of Star Wars at all.
Im gonna wait for 5 but damn i love this game... i remember waiting for years for this and spending a straight week to beat it when it came out, 10 hour days playing in my brothers room until he got home from work and kicked me out , good times

For KOTOR I was waiting for them to fix that big dialog box at the top but glad to hear they will make the change.

I remember playing the original. I loved it. Just a tip I played thru all the puzzles (instead of hacking? I forget) and they were great. I also got pretty good at playing Pazaak cuz I needed the money 🙂

Regardless of your knowledge of SW, this is definitely a game where if you can go in blind, you totally

I've played KOTOR several times over and absolutely love it. Can anyone speak to the quality of this port?

Thanks, OP! Arguably one of the best SW games ever made and well worth having on a modern platform.

No matter how many times you play/beat it, you come back for more.
